Female Narrator cringe

The female narrator during the spicy parts was soooooo cringe. She did this breathy, whiny voice that sounds more like she's crying the whole time. I would just skip past it because it started to grate on my nerves. Other then that the book was good.

Loved this!

Enjoyed the book and the narrators brought it to life so well!! What a monstrously good romance with matchmaking, fated mates, and a mystery.

Good, but it could have been better

The male narrator is great, but the female narrator was too dramatic. Normally I wouldn't object to a dramatic performance, but she was overly dramatic constantly, even when it wasn't called for. I could overlook this, but her volume was all over the place. She would be really loud one moment and then practically whispering the next, so i was constantly adjusting the volume and then backtracking when i couldn't hear her all of a sudden.

The story was a unique and interesting twist on Beauty and the Beast. My only issue is that there wasn't much struggle. There were obstacles to overcome, but when it came down to it everything was resolved way too easily. It made what could have been an exciting book kind of boring.

I'm not giving up. I'm going to read the second book, but I'm going to READ it instead of going through Audible since the narrators are the same. Hopefully the next one is even better.

Pretty good story

This one started off really rough as the writing was poor, to say the least. The story itself is very unique and interesting. As much as I would like to read the other stories, there is just too much sex for me.

Loved it!

I was in the mood for a monster romance story and this one just hit the spot, deliciously. I loved the plot and especially the world building. I definitely recommend it. Kit Swann and Jack Calihan did an amazing job narrating this story.

Good intro to the series

Unfortunately, I did not review it right after finishing it, so I no longer remember all the small details, but I really enjoyed this book. I thought the world building was good and liked the characters. The small amount of mystery that was mixed in was nice too. I did think that the main female was a bit quick to accept her circumstances and just go with the flow but it was still fine. This is book 1 in the series and I think I am interested enough in continuing the series to see what more will come.

Decent book, HORRIBLE female narrator

Story is fine if you're after a spicy minotaur romance. No complaints there. The book does its job.

Male narrator is great. Female narrator is horrible. She is over the top and dramatic constantly, which is made worse by her slow reading. I could barely stand the sex scenes because her narration was so ridiculous. Will not listen to something by her again.

Bella and the beast kind of love

Summary bit
Main female character is a bigger size who has a relationship history where she has trust issues. Her and her best friends go on a horror haunted house that makes you sign a contract. None of them read the details. The guy running the show splits them up and sends a cat to her way. She ends up in a different world with a monster who says they have a sex contract and they are true mates. She passes out and wakes up to try to figure things out. 14 days to go home. The main male character kingdom is dying and he’s one last hope is becoming less likely. The both of them make a compromise, but an evil lurks in the dark and the short vacation leads to more danger then ethier expected.


My review
The main characters were well done. I liked both of them. She was a jaded but accepting gal who is into fantasy stuff and build her own game boards. Coming into a world that she has dreamed of. Makes things more adventurous. The main male character has gone through hardships, but does not give up. He does he’s best to be acceptable to his mate and treats her good. They had a few hiccup moments. The side characters hinted at other books, giving you a little bit of information to get you wondering.
The storyline seemed a little basic in some ways, but twist and turns made it unique. The characters really made this book great. A big adventurous book with a mystery behind each door. Battle bits tossed in. Romance was sweet. Slow build and envious. The sexy bits was added in half way through and just the one. Was about or 3 or 4 out of five. Not bad at all.
Tad bit of a cliff hanger with friends. They hint to their own adventures and confirm they’re alive. Information hinted to will get you to buy the next book.

Narration review
I’ve listened to these narrators before and they have always done a pretty good job. I rarely have complaints on there work.

Would I recommend this book?
Yes, I highly recommend. Monster romance is my new flavor this month. This one is way better than the last few books I’ve read. I would buy the paperback. I look forward to listening to the next one. Kraken Romance has me wondering more.
