Resumen del Editor

Dana Dillinger had been R. J. Maitland's right hand for years - loyal, dependable, and hopelessly, secretly, in love with him. So when he popped the question to prove he wasn't the playboy the press labeled him, she accepted his "proposal". But where R. J. envisioned a marriage in name only, Dana refused to settle for anything less than his heart....

Some dangling major threads left

First of all, I loved the storyline and the seduction...but the problem resulting in the marriage was never resolved. Moreover that "problem" continued to be developed, throughout the text. It never came full circle, despite being given hints....and we were left hanging in the end...does this mean a sequel?

SPOILER-Great passion/horrible accents

Here is what I loved about the book: great chemistry between the two main characters and the premise is very fantasy like for quite a few women with 'the man she has secretly loved finally coming to his senses' aspect. I really liked the supportive family dynamic, the mom busting out the skank, and the banter from everyone in the book.

Here is what I really did not like: The southern accents. When I read a book where I know there is one I insert my own version on my head. I used to have a southern accent and over the years it has faded to nothing. But I have tons of friends and family still with the accent. The author enunciated ever single solitary word in a way that DRIPPED with the accent.
Then the vocabulary used by these people shows they are clearly educated. However, some of the words combined with the over the top accent made me laugh. I do not know one educated southern person who would say 'abdicated' and 'vicious insinuations' with an accent like they were from the backwoods of the Mississippi Delta. Also the way Dana kept saying his name, RJ, also with the dripping accent off each letter was annoying.

Also the female protagonist seemed to have buried her personality to please this man and she also seems to have buried any self esteem because of her mother abuse. However, the way it is written is like she is a child who is so over the top naïve that it is ridiculous. She is strong when she wants to stand up to RJ but she seems so helpless at times it pathetic. I understand that there is a fantasy of a man saving the seemingly helpless woman, but she then finds she is stronger that she thought, and the two build a partnership…but this went a little too far and felt a little insulting.

Overall I liked it quite a bit and would recommend it but beware of the accents!

Could have been great.

This was a really good story, lost within a confusing jumble of incomplete backstories and side stories, and unresolved issues that seem to set up future stories but have very little to do with the main story and are just an annoying distraction. I don't recommend this one.

What Happened to Genetic Testing?

A baby is found on the steps of the Maitland Maternity Clinic. The president of the clinics ex girl friend claims it is their baby and he abandoned her when she told him about the pregnancy. This causes all kinds of chaos and a media frenzy ensues. RJ the president of the clinic reputation takes some drastic hits, and the clinic starts to lose business and prestige. Later the ex girl friend is exposed, the baby isn't hers and RJ's, however one of the reporters won't give up and continues with her campaign to destroy the Maitlands by claiming the baby belongs to one of the Maitland men. RJ decides to improve his image by marrying his very efficient but dowdy secretary Dana. However, when the clothes come off, Dana isn't so dowdy and the heat between the two of them is undeniable. The rest of the story deals with Dana's and RJ's romance, with a couple of sub plots interwoven. My big question is why no paternity test to get RJ off the hook as the father? I enjoyed the story, this is one in a series called Maitland Maternity, written by different authors, you can find the other stories at Amazon.com.

4 Married to the Boss Stars

Dana and R.J are fun characters and I really enjoyed that back and forth we get. You are kind of thrust into the story and it took a few chapters to get the jist of things. But once I did I really enjoyed it.

I liked that R.J was a little out of his comfort zone and that Dana is the one person he could rely on. The “fake” marriage is probably one of my favorite tropes because the men always fall so much harder in the end. I just love that.

I liked the narration but I guess I kind of wanted a male to narrate. But either way, it was ok for me.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I CAN'T!!!😬

This may be a really good book but I can't continue to listen to all of the dialogue of nothing. Get to the story already!!! This story doesn't even make much sense to me. Why in the world would the press take the word of a woman who left her baby on the door step of a medical facility and not of the upstanding man that works for that facility. Again, I can't!!
Please keep in mind that I didn't get past the 3rd chapter. I rated so high ( in my opinion) because I wanted to be fair to the writers work. This may be a good book but I can't get passed all of the unnecessary dialogue and wierd storyline of the 1st couple of chapters.

Horrible Narrator, Not Lori Foster's Usual

WORST narrator I've encountered, ever! Story very pedestrian and used up. Why can't we have some of Foster's "Fight Club HAVOC" books? Don't waste a credit and I am a huge Lori Foster fan.
