From bad comes good

Fenrir gets a call from his former sister-in-law telling him that his ex-wife, and mother of his three children, has been killed in an auto accident. He hurries to make his way to her home where the next-door neighbor, Charm, has pitched in to stay with the children. His ex had insinuated that he and Charm would make a good couple, but Fenrir finds she pushes his buttons when she inserts herself into his daughter's grief. But he finds himself unable to ignore her, even when she takes her revenge on him for his attitude towards her. His club brothers are unexpectedly drawn into her retaliation scheme - and not in a good way. His pres is actually impressed with her reprisal, except for the part where he got caught up in it.

Fenrir will discover that there is more to his ex's death than a simple auto accident. He will also find out that she was right about Charm. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Unusual matchmaker....soooooo good!!!

Malicious, an Audiobook by E.C. Land and Elizabeth Knox, is the first book of the Raiders of Valhalla series. This is the story of Fenrir and Charm. There’s a tragedy that brings them together…but, things don’t go so smoothly for them…slowly, it gets better!!

She’s full of mischief and a little snark!! He’s a lovable bear who puts on another face…and they’re PERFECT!!!!! Things happening with the MC only make this story even better!!!!

This Audiobook was beautifully narrated by Jason Fella, whose portrayal of all of the characters in this story is spot on. Really brought things to life and made this story that much more enjoyable to hear!!!

Great Start to the Series

This is book one of this interconnected standalone series. Told in dual first person POV and one that will have you needing more.

I listened to the audiobook on Audible. This was the first time I have listened to the narrator, and I will admit it was a bit weird to listen to a man narrate the male and female characters. Normally if there is one narrator, I t’s a female doing both characters. He did a great job doing both characters and side characters though! I would listen to more of his work. He did a great job bringing this story to life.

This story held my attention and I finished it in a day. My heart went out Fenrir and having to navigate his nomad life after the loss of the mother to his children. Though they didn’t see eye to eye at first, I loved the sneaky prank that went out of control Charm ended up not being able to live down. I loved their chemistry and how much love she had for his children.

I can’t wait to see what happens next with the rest of the nomads who decided to stay put to support Fenrir and his kids. I was provided an advanced listeners copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.
