Boondocking literally means to "dock" in the "boonies," camping on your own off the grid away from campgrounds, free to howl at the moon, run around in your BVDs, or just read your book in peace and quiet with no one around. But boondocking also means you're on your own, and you'll want to go prepared. Here, Sunny Skye gives you the basics you'll need to know, things like the best rig to have, being independent, coping with boredom and loneliness, as well as dealing with insects, wild animals, and pests.

If 20 percent of the population implemented half the solutions in this book, it would solve the biggest global problems. All without writing to politicians, joining protests, signing petitions, or being angry at the people that are causing the problems. Good solutions are often different from conventional environmental wisdom. The average American adult has a carbon footprint of 30 tons per year. Replacing a petroleum car with an electric car will cut 2 tons. But if you live in a cold climate and you switch from electric heat to a rocket mass heater, you will cut 27 tons!

Your home should be your safe place, but for some, it feels like a place where they are stuck in old thoughts, stubborn habits, and stalled life goals.

Resumen del Editor
Nobody wants toxic chemicals in their home. However, many people do have such chemicals where they live, but are unaware of these lurking dangers. We live in a culture where toxic chemicals are just a part of life. Or so it sometimes seems. And they just seem to creep into our homes. Once toxic chemicals are in our homes, it may seem daunting, almost impossible, to get them out. We try everything, short of exorcism, to be rid of them. Sometimes nothing seems to work.
Over 30 years of attempts, failures, and successes at ridding our homes of toxic chemicals have led to the creation of this plan. It takes a lot of work. And you will no doubt be overwhelmed by it at first. But the plan does work. And the end results are worth both the time and the effort. Removing toxic chemicals from a home often results in the inhabitants being better able to breathe, being sick less often, and having more energy.
It takes time. But it can be accomplished step by step. Do as much as you can. And do what works for you. Then move on to the next step. You may need to come back to the first steps and perform the remaining tasks. But eventually, you will work out what works for you. You will work out what rids your home from toxic chemicals to the point that you can live at peace with your home again.

We prefer not to talk about it, but we should. Disease spread by waste kills more people worldwide every year than any other single cause of death. Even in America, nearly two million people have no access to an indoor toilet. Yet the subject remains unmentionable. Moving from the underground sewers of Paris, London, and New York (an infrastructure disaster waiting to happen) to an Indian slum where ten toilets are shared by 60,000 people, The Big Necessity breaks the silence, revealing everything that matters about how people do - and don't - deal with their own waste.

Historia
Is bourbon the quintessential American liquor? Bourbon is not just alcohol - the amber-colored drink is deeply ingrained in American culture and tangled in American history. From the early days of raw corn liquor to the myriad distilleries that have proliferated around the country today, bourbon is a symbol of the United States. This course traces bourbon's entire history, from the 1700s, with Irish, Scottish, and French settlers setting up stills and making distilled spirits in the New World, through today's booming resurgence.

Wine is an expression of the hopes, dreams, and cultures of the people who make it, so what better way to learn about the countries of the world than by learning about their wines?
