Acerca de esta escucha

Lord of the mystical and uncanny, Magnus the Red has long studied the ancient crafts of sorcery. A psyker without peer, save only for the Emperor himself, he commands his loyal followers of the Thousand Sons Legion in the Great Crusade, though also vigilant for any lost knowledge they might recover from the remains of dead human civilisations.

Now, fighting alongside his brother Perturabo of the Iron Warriors, Magnus begins to foresee an approaching nexus of fate - will he remain true to their mutual aims or divert his own efforts towards furthering his own mastery of the warp?

Con calificación alta para:

The Audiobook Presents An Engaging And Original Story Revolving Around The Primarchs Magnus The Red And Perturabo, And Their Respective Legions, The Thousand Sons And The Iron Warriors. It Explores Interesting Lore And Unpredictable Plot Points Related To The Horus Heresy. While The Narrative Is Compelling With Well-developed Characters, Some Reviewers Felt That Certain Aspects Were Underdeveloped Or Rushed Due To The Relatively Short Length Of The Audiobook.

First Primarch Book I Like

I've already gone through the Guilliman and Leeman Russ Primarch books and this is the first one that I actually like. You get a decent look into not only Magnus but also Ahriman which is a plus. My gripes with the first two Primarch books is that either they didn't deal with the Primarch enough or the story just wasn't all that interesting. I'm not going to say it's a masterpiece, but it's definitely better than the first two.

Excessive Excess

There's a decent amount of good stuff here, I enjoyed it for sure. But there were so many moments of such extreme that it could fill several books with an appropriate volume of tension. Between the hand-waving magic stuff and constant escalation of crisis, its teeth were made dull by the end.

Great story.

Graham writes perty the best. It was really cool seeing early crusade primarchs in action

Some weird voices

I found it strange that a primarch and some space marines have goblinish voices. The story was OK; there are some twists towards the end. Not too much to do with the Horus Heresy though.

Great Thousand Sons short story

Solid entry in the lore of the Thousand Sons legion.

I enjoyed the descriptions of the psychic powers displayed by Magnus & Ahriman & their battle with this psychic force on a dying planet.

The narrator did an excellent job with his descriptions of the action scenes & thought processes of the characters.

I like the explanation of how the Iron Warriors are very analytical & mechanical in their approach & thought processes compared to the Thousand Sons (though they do have their own sense of compassion & humanity).

Great short story if you’re a Thousand Sons fan or a fan of psykers in 40k in general.

The best...

Primarch(s) story in this particular series. It's almost as much Perturabo's story as much as it is Magnus's. and old Pert shines here.

Marvelous Magical Mischief!

Magnus has and will always be one of my favs and this book makes me love him even more. I also helped me understand Pertrabo and Forrix better along with Arhimen. These guys Betraying the Imperium is hard to believe more and more the more you know about them.

I wanted space wizards, & got it.

The story overall isn’t overly amazing or complicated, but there are chapters that will occupy my thoughts. Didn’t expect the Iron Warriors or even their primarch to be in this story, I love how these two legions got along, left me with a bittersweet smile.

Some scenes of destruction or acts of magic was beautiful, & I’m left wanting more. I have already consumed the previous 1000 sons books so I’m not learning anything new here. For those who haven’t & this is your first 1000 sons book, I say it does a decent job at showing off the legion.

Skip the book if you want as it’s not a “must read”, but I enjoyed it & wasn’t disappointed.
