Bad mothers & Mages!

That title will make more sense when you read the book!

Great story & characters, intrigue & passion!

I’m less enthused with the narrator. (I did audio.) She’s trying but if your character makes several appearances the male char characters come off forced, too much Christian Bale as Batman.

a young womens adventure of self discovery development and overcoming the obsticles that surface in her new exciting and troublesome world.

I felt the narrated did a good job in tellinhg the story. I borrowed the book in Kindle unlimited so I could follow along in the book too. I enjoy following along in the book and listening. Wish I could do this more often. Follow AJ as her life from proverty to learning about the supernatural world. What will she do when she finds out more about herself? Can she accept everything? Find a way to live her full life.

A story that has many twist and turns that will keep you wanting for more and a little cliffhanger at the end for the next book. The narrator did an excellent job reading and portraying each character.

A Whole New World — yikes!

The magic system was unique to me. I liked how AJ interacted with her elemental aspects. She was able to use her newly discovered magic in unexpected ways, but it didn't make her invincible. She made mistakes as she learned and got in her share of trouble as often as she got things right.
It was entertaining to watch the new world of vampires, mages, and shifters open up to her.
The story had action, intrigue, new and old betrayals, and some confused romances developing to keep the pages turning.
Carol Beth Anderson was consistent in all her voices, so I always knew who was talking, and she portrayed AJ's emotions very well.

Romantic Urban Fantasy

This was my first experience with Yvette Bostic's work, and I enjoyed it. A young woman found out that magic was real. I appreciated the worldbuilding. I enjoyed the characters. I liked the twists and turns that kept one guessing as to what would happen next. Carol Beth Anderson's narration was great, and her performance added to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

this was an interesting listen. The story overall was good from a new to me author and the narration pulled you into the story.

Keeps you listening!

I enjoyed how AJ learns about her true identity. She gets thrown a lot of obstacles to overcome but she gets through. She was a tad dramatic with her reaction to each new thing. The story was good and the narrator did a great job with voices and personalities. Look forward to part 2…i hope. 😊

Great beginning!

I love the twisty “who can I trust” sort of story and this one does it well! The fun little spark shared between them was comical, and I loved the elements. As unrealistic as UF books can be, I liked the magic basis here but wished our FMC would have developed more along an arc instead of jumping from totally distrusting of people’s intentions to a fade-to-black love scene in a bathroom. I thought the narration was spot on and I’ll gladly pick up others from this author and narrator!
