Twists and Turns
Where does Magic on the Line rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?
In Monk???s Magic series, this book ranks well for me. The story twists and turns in interesting ways. Some I thought were predictable but I like seeing where an author is going before she goes there. The moment Allie goes totally against her nature as portrayed in the previous 6 books I cheered, ???Finally!??? Monk???s character development is slow but steady. Some series authors think they have to stay true to their characters and don???t??? let them grow. Though this is a fantasy setting, I find it more human than other series I???ve read.
Who was your favorite character and why?
In this volume I grew to like Mave more and am seeing her in my mind in the body of Mary Steenburgen. Not sure why.
Which character ??? as performed by Emily Durante ??? was your favorite?
Emily Durante is getting to me. With each book she is growing to be an important part of my enjoyment of the story for me. Her voicing of the characters has gotten more precise with each new addition. I particularly like when she voices one character possessing another. She cleverly combines the 2 in a way that you understand who has taken over whom. It???s amazing.

Just Buy The Book
I love the Allie Beckstrom novels, but listening to the narrator is an awful experience. Since the story is first person, the voice is representing Allison Beckstrom's character....this Emily Durante lady does not. She sounds like a 40 year old librarian- which Allie is not. Durante has a very pleasant voice but it does not suite these novels well at all. Very sad! Please audible.com- fix this!
