Lovely emotional read

This is the first book in the For You series with developed characters (Friends to Lovers/Second Chance) The story is about Eli and Tyson, and their struggle to get Tyson healthy from the abuse he suffered from his ex. Tyson's is broken, but also very strong. Eli is patient; but struggles with communication. This story is heartbreaking and lovely at the same time. There are so many emotions, anger, sadness, rejoicing, and happiness. The love and trust that helps heal and bring these two together is beautiful. The narration was very well done.

So many feels!

Made For You by JP Oliver is the first book in the For You series and this one is one of those emotional ones you don’t forget. Any kind of abuse in relationships are the toughest to break free from but that’s what happens to Ty after he lands in the hospital by the hands of his abusive and possessive boyfriend Max. He barely escapes the Denver hospital when he’s discovered off the side of the road weeks later and wakes up in his hometown. What should be relief and triumph, Ty realizes he has a long way to fully recover from the horrific ordeal he’s endured in the last 10 years. With the help from his brother and friends he was forced to cut ties with, Ty slowly goes back so some kind of normal. What he doesn’t expect is the strong feeling of want and need from Eli, his childhood best friend and crush. Eli always cared about Ty, so when he finds out all the horrid details, he’s determined to build Ty up and love him hard. As their emotions start to surface and they finally get together, it’s only when Ty’s past comes back and threatens his new life. This is a first Max Christian listen for me and he did good. I’d like to hear more from him and see his narration progress. This isn’t my first JP Oliver book and it won’t be my last! 4.5 stars for Made For You by JP Oliver. Happy listening all!

Short but packed with all the right elements

I enjoyed this listen. It was a nice second chance romance. The characters are interesting and you want to know more about these strong men that share a bond of friendship.

The topic of spousal or partner abuse can never be talked about enough in my eyes. This book showcases how abuse can not only slowly kill you but tear you down mentally as well. I did like how we saw Tyson's personality evolve throughout the book. Coming back from an abusive situation can be a long road. We see how, in this story, having a good support system can go a long way as far as getting your life back after leaving that kind of toxic relationship.

The narrator was good as well. There was definitely voice distinction. I only had a small issue with the recording. I am not sure of it was the narrator or the way the book was edited. There was a chapter that repeated itself as well as sometimes sentences would be reread in error. It did not take from the story, though. It did kind of throw me for a quick minute though.

I loved this story. Life, Love, Trust! The 3 most important things in a relationship.

Tyson an Eli grew up together, fell in love although neither told the other. They go off to college and then Tyson stops calling, stops answering phone calls. Tyson was living in HELL for 10 years with an extremely abusive boyfriend.

He gets away and goes to his hometown where Eli and all of their friends live. Eli and Tyson's love story starts. However, they have to face off twice with the abusive ex-boy friend.

Eli saved Tyson's LIFE, confesses is LOVE, and Tyson believes and TRUSTS that they will be together always.

Tyson and Elliot Get Their Shot

Tyson awakes and finds himself in the hospital hooked up to all sorts of stuff. Maxwell his boyfriend of 10 years has beat him again and almost killed him this time. He hears Maxwell talking to the police passing it all off as Tyson getting mugged. He knows that if he stays any longer Max will kill him. So he rips out the tubes and runs.
Elliot and Ty were the very best of friends from childhood to college. Elliot was always in love with Ty but afraid to go for it in case Ty didn't feel the same way. Then when Ty meets Max in college they start a relationship and Max slowly separates Ty from all his friends and family. Elliot hasn't seen Ty in 10 long years. It kind of broke him. Elliot is in their hometown and a Police detective. He still has the same group of friends he and Ty always had until Ty disappear.
When Ty is found outside of town beaten and emaciated he's taken to the hospital and Elliot is determined to protect him and get him back. He recognizes the signs of abuse. Ty's brother and their friends surrounds him and Elliot.
Listen as Elliot protects Tyson and helps him back to the person he once was and then they both admit to the love they have always had for each other. This is such a beautiful story.

Tyson & Elliot's Second Chance

I really enjoyed this addition to the series. Everything that Tyson went through broke my heart and I was so happy when he escaped. Tyson and Elliot are truly a beautiful couple and I'm so glad they got a chance to be together. Elliot is incredibly patient and exactly what Tyson needs to heal and move on from his abusive past. The narrator was very good with the characters and with the story. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Have some tissues handy,this one has it all. Ty and Elliot’s story is one you don’t want to miss. J.P. Has another great one.

Sweet second chance

This is a sweet second chance/friends to lovers. I wish we got a little more of the back story and I feel like somethings were a little to easily resolved but overall it was a good listen with some slight tech issues with repeating etc. Narration was done well.

Tyson and Elliot

Tyson's amazingly strong and very broken. He's endured a decade of abuse and has to find his way past his demons back to himself. Elliot is stoic and has trouble communicating, but he loves Ty deeply. He's not perfect, he screws up but he's so afraid of losing Ty. There are a few heart-racing moments as well as plenty of spicy ones. Terrific ending.

Audiobook: The narrator did a decent job although he seemed to be rushed and jumped from one scene to another without pausing so at times I didn't know that there was a change. While I quickly caught on it was a bit distracting. The editing needed work as there were LOTS of times where there were repeats of words, phrases, sentences or even whole paragraphs that are NOT in the book. It was disappointing that the quality wasn't what I expected and I think the author deserved better.

Great Book!!!!

The start of the book is action packed!!The rest of the book keeps you on edge..knowing something is going to happen. It was an amazing book, a must read!!!
