My Favorite Biographical Books ! A+

I loved everything about this book. It was such a pleasure to listen to. Enthralling story, wonderful characters, and flawless narration. Laughter, crying, suspense, and caring. And these were just my emotions. Just listen to this one, do yourself a favor.

Interesting But...

The narrator here is very poor, to the point of distraction. The story started well and dwindled into somewhat of a Danielle Steele novel. I'd save my credit except that I do enjoy New Orleans and found the history interesting.

Great Historical book based in New Orleans

Interesting book about New Orleans storyville district. The author did a great job of southern accents.

Love true history, must listen. A great read for a Nola fan.

The boldness of Mary very strong woman

Loved everything about the book. No dislikes, a little voodoo, praying and a lot of unsavory situations in which I loved!! Lol

This book was sooooooo predictable it was beyond boring.

I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone unless they have a bunch of hours to waste on the most predictable book ever.

Oh no no no no no

What do New Orleanians hate most when watching movies or hearing stories that take place in New Orleans? We hate stupid overt efforts to either sound like we’re all cajuns OR hearing the obvious failures to do so, we hate when actors fall back onto their poor ideas of a generic Southern accents that somehow always sound like the character is a mix of Georgian, Virginian and middle South Carolinian.. but clearly NOT from Louisiana. I couldn’t listen past the 2nd opening sentence before my brain cried, “Oh noooo, no, no, no, no NO.
Please just read the damn story and stop with the affectations!
