Loved the humor in these 3 titles! I chuckled out loud a lot! The male voice was sometimes annoying... sounding kind of weaselly but then made up for it when he made emphasis on his "O" and when he laughed. Thanks Emily, can't wait to read more!!!

A Fabulously Delightful RomCom Trifecta! Great🎧📚🎧

This is an awesome boxset, it contains the first three books of Emily James’ “Love in Short” series and offers a great variety of RomCom novels. Each book is well written with interesting characters and storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I like the clever titles and acronyms for these books, they are fun and add a little more humor to an already fun story. Each book is set in the small town of Heaven, East Angleford, each book features a different couple but some of the characters are connected and may appear in more than one book. The first book OMFG ~ Operation: My Fake Girlfriend is Sebastian Stone and Grace Harper’s story. Grace does the unthinkable she accidentally “likes” her ex’s engagement post on social media, which in big no-no and she talks her humiliation out with a bottle and then picks up a hottie for a one night stand. A one night stand that turns out to be her new bosses son, she had no idea who he was but saw photos of him and his grandfather in his home. She just starting working at Stone Enterprises and there is a no fraternization policy so she does the smart thing sneaks out before he wakes up and hopes he does not remember who she is. But no such luck, Sebastian not only remembers her but he searches for her too. He is in line to take over Stone Enterprises but his Grandfather wants to see him settle down and take relationships seriously first, so he comes up with Operation Fake Girlfriend and he propositions Grace with offers she can’t refuse, well Grace is too kind to say no to anyone. This fake relationship turned real is a fast moving story with lots of laugh out loud moments, a male cat name Geraldine who is a scene stealer at times, there are also heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. The second book SWAT ~ Sexy with Attitude Too is Luke Stone and Rosie Butterworth’s story, it is a great enemies to lovers, opposite attract story. Luke chose to be a police officer and not be a part of the family business. He has a reputation in town of being a player and a love them and leave them type of guy. He is ok with that because he never leads any of his hookups on, letting them know right up front he does not want a relationship. Rosie Butterworth is Sebastian’s new personal assistant at the office. He has her picking up a wedding cake, but Luke was sent to pick up that same cake he chases her pulls her over but she winds up getting away until he catches up with her again. Then the two wind up house and cat sit for Geraldine. The push and pull between these two was hilarious at times, neither one wants to back down. The chemistry between them was undeniable and explosive so you knew it was only a matter of time. In addition to the relationship drama there is some crime drama with Luke working on a case, it brings a bit of a mystery, there are also twists and turns not only with the case but with who Rosie is. The storylines pull together nicely and Luke shines in the end. The third book YOLO ~ You Only Love Once is Willow Parker and Ethan Banks’s story, it is a fabulous second chancer romance. Willow and Ethan were teens in love, after H.S Willow had big plans after college, she wanted a bigger life and out of small town living. Ethan’s family owned the bakery but with his sister, Patti, is taking it over so he had decisions to make, after losing his brother who was serving overseas he decided to enlist. Willow found out she was pregnant and returned back home to find Ethan had left, she was broken hearted. Patti told Ethan bad info about Willow and he two was broken hearted. The story fast forwards to the present Ethan returns back to Heaven one of the first people he runs in to is Willow. Willow, a single mother of a darling little girl named Jessica, she does not know her father and her father does not know about her. This is a sweet story, Willow and her sister are helping their mother out while battling cancer, Willow works two jobs one being in the local bar, a bar Ethan buys, so she becomes his employee. I loved how everything played out in this book too, the story is beautifully plotted and has the perfect balance of drama, humor and romance, it also has all the feels. In case you are wondering what the character connection was in this book Willow is good friends with Rosie and Ethan is with Luke. We also get some history of things that went down in the past with Patti. I highly recommend this series, the books are enjoyable and entertaining and will definitely put a smile on your face. Emily James that you for these wonderful stories and the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride, I enjoyed every minute of it.

Sophie Hunter-Scott and Sunny Patel narrated the first book, Greg Michaels joins Sophie Hunter-Scott for the 2nd and 3rd book. hey do a great job portraying these characters, humanizing them giving each their own voice and personality. They take each role and make it their own sounding believable and just how I picture the characters to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They set the perfect tone of the story, handle the witty dialogue with ease and land the humor flawlessly. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for great listen🎧
