It's up to two rescue husky puppies to convince their owners it's never too late for a second leash on love.

When Nate Porter left Helen, Alaska, to become a firefighter with the Forest Service, he claimed it was because he craved adventure. The truth was, he couldn't stand to hang around, pining for a girl the town's century-old feud meant he could never have. But Nate got over Lydia Lipin years ago, or so he thought until he learns that an old rival has come sniffing around. The solution—a trip home with his rescue puppies to prove to himself he completely extinguished that old flame.

Lydia Lipin has always been satisfied being the "good" Lipin daughter—dutiful, practical, and always putting others before herself. But that role begins to chafe as Nate's return ignites old memories. No one in town knew about their secret friendship or those forbidden kisses they stole the summer after graduation. Suddenly, Nate and his puppies are everywhere, and sparks are flying.

When Nate realizes he never got over Lydia, he'll risk everything for a second chance. But Lydia's not a risk-taker, and she has to make a choice—play it safe and pretend their summer fling was just puppy love, or step out of the family shadow and unleash her heart.

Praise for Heart on a Leash

"An effortlessly charming debut! Heart on a Leash gives us great comedy in the form of feuding-family shenanigans, along with swoony romance ... and huskies. What more could you want? This is an engrossing read that will take you on a trip to small-town Alaska and make you fall in love."—Jen DeLuca, author of Well Played

"Heart On A Leash
had my heart from page one...Whether you're a dog lover, cat lover, or romance lover, you're sure to fall head over heels for this book."—Sarah Smith, author of Simmer Down

"With two charming leads, three irresistible pups, and a small town unlike any I’ve read before, Heart on a Leash tugged at my emotions and warmed my soul. The perfect book to snuggle up with and savor.”—Rachel Lynn Solomon, author of The Ex-Talk

"A small town romance that defies cliché. Complex family rivalries, swoon-worthy romance, and (of course!) adorable dogs make this a heart-melting love story."—Michelle Hazen, author of Breathe the Sky

"A heartwarming contemporary romance that puts a new spin on the enemies-to lovers trope, Heart on a Leash takes us on an insightful journey of falling in love without the support of family. Sexy and sensitive, the undeniable chemistry between the heroine and hero (and a pack of adorable Huskies) drive the story to its charming conclusion—tail wags and HEA included."—Samantha Vérant, author of The Secret French Recipes of Sophie Valroux

The narrator is amazing. I think the story is just getting old. I’ve read the previous couple of books and they were really good. For some reason this one seemed flat. I don’t know if the whole Romeo Juliet feuding family thing is getting old on book number three. I can say the characters were just kind of boring, the last book I think was the best. It just seems sort of like the same situation feuding families fall in love against the odds have an issue and then get back together at the end. I don’t know how long this series will last without some major changes. The author is good and the dialogue for the books in the situation are great but maybe get away from the feuding.
