Resumen del Editor

Bloomsbury presents Little Nothings by Julie Mayhew, read by Louise Williams.

With friends like these, who needs enemies?

Liv Travers never knew real friendship until she met fellow mums Beth and Binnie. The three women become inseparable as they muddle through early parenthood together.

Then along comes Ange.... Ambitious, wealthy and somehow able to do it all.

Under Ange’s guiding presence, the group finds new vigour and fresh aspirations—bigger houses, better schools, dinners at exclusive restaurants. But Liv can’t keep up and is increasingly edged out.

When the four families take a three-week trip to a luxurious holiday resort, Liv seizes the opportunity to reclaim her place at the heart of the group, only to discover the true, devastating cost of a friendship with Ange.

Set over the course of a single life-changing trip to a Greek island paradise, Little Nothings is a sly, suspenseful novel about female bonds turned toxic and the desperate ends one woman will go to keep her friends close—and her enemy closer.

WOW! Freaky and good

I don’t know what I expected but this was so good. It was scary and devilish and also honest and reflects a lot of fears in female friendships. Definitely - to the extreme.

decent

Story line was interesting but it fell off in a few places. The ending was not wrapped up or enjoyable. Narration was great,, character development was great!

Exceptional

This book left such an impression on me.
I just happened upon it purely by chance, I’d never heard of Julie Mayhew before and the title isn’t very revealing.
The description of this story doesn’t begin to do it justice.
This is not just another book about the complexities of a friend group over time.
It is so much more than that.
These characters are exceptionally well drawn, the story is rich, textured, and revelatory.
It is multidimensional.

You can never quite gauge where things are going and by the end of the book the reader has no idea how things will shake out.

It’s clever, fresh, real, mysterious and unique in every way.

I couldn’t have enjoyed it more.
I bought this book a year ago and have already listened to it twice.

After the first reading I purchased another book by JM and I’m so glad that I did.

The way that she writes is so refreshing, honest, and creative.

She is a unique talent.

I highly recommend this book.
The narration is incredibly good as well.
A pure pleasure from start to finish, truly.

Five easy stars, I reserve this rating only for books that I would read more than once because they are that compelling.

Certainly worth a credit.
I can’t wait to see what Julie Mayhew does in the future, she’s a rare literary gift.
