Great Primer for Backlink Beginners

Warren Mori put together a concise and easy to digest primer for beginning SEOs and vetrans alike. He knows what he's talking about (I could tell having been actively doing SEO since 2003) It was good to brush up on the important elements of a good back linking campaign.

Robert Gazy made listening to the audio an enjoyable experience. Some books I really want to listen to I just have to stop when the reader gets on my nerves. Robert carried me through to the end!

Some aspects of backlinking are easy to overlook with time, such as link velocity (how quick you gain links to your site) and the % of anchor text you're intentionally influencing, but are nevertheless essential, so hearing about them again was a good reminder.

I particularly like the focus on the human element of both content and backlinking. I've long maintained that link building is nothing more than relationship building.

When relationships are the central focus, link building works. However, when marketers disregard this critical human element, they are often lead to the kind of link schemes that get them in trouble, and in turn their websites are much more likely to drop from search rankings the next time Google updates there Spam algorithm.

I think this book served a valuable purpose for me. It inspired me to make backlinking a stronger part of my skillset and gave me some ideas where to start.

I love actionable and how-to content as well, so I am going to need to read up more on the actual methodologies and tools needed to put these lessons into practice. Had this book been more rich in this area I would have gladly given it 5 stars.
