Mike Sexton is a legend in the poker world.

In a life spanning over four decades as a poker professional, Mike has excelled both on the felt and on the business side of poker. He is a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, helped create PartyPoker in 2001, and was a key player in an event that changed the poker world forever - the launch of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in 2002. He has been a commentator on the WPT, along with Vince Van Patten, since its inception.

In addition, Mike was recognized as poker's Top Ambassador at the Card Player Magazine Player of the Year Awards gala in 2006. That same year, he won WSOP Tournament of Champions, winning $1 million in prize money - half of which he donated to charity. He was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2009.

Great stories

Mike Sexton tells the stories from growing up in Ohio to being inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame, and the amazing people he met along the way. Of winning and losing millions, and the journey. As they say without risks there are no rewards or as Mike puts it "Life's A Gamble"

Amazing stories by one of the greatest of all time

This book is full of fascinating stories by one of the most important poker players of all time. He is candid and honest with his experiences in the world of gambling and poker. There are many great lessons to be learned here for all types of people even non gamblers. The narration is a solid 10/10, I think maybe only Morrgan Freeman has a better voice. I can't reccomended this book highly enough. I will be revisiting Life's A Gamble many more times.

Absolutely Wonderful

Didn't think this would be happening, choking up over Mike singing the song he wrote for his friend. Truly a great human being. I can only imagine how much he is missed by those who knew him.

Most entertaining poker book

This book, by far, is the most entertaining poker book. Mike does a great job delivering some of the best stories about big names, gambling for big money. Just finished it for the second time and I'm sure i will re-visit this book.
