Resumen del Editor

The one woman he wants is the one he cannot have.

Former foster kid Sebastian Grant has leveraged his intelligence and hard work to become a pediatric heart surgeon. But not even his career success can erase the void he’s tried so hard to fill. Then he meets high school teacher Leah Montgomery, and his fast-spinning world comes to a sudden stop. He falls hard, only to make a devastating discovery - Leah is the woman his best friend set his heart on months before.

Leah’s a math prodigy who’s only ever had one big dream - to earn her PhD. Raising her little brother put that dream on hold. Now that her brother will soon be college-bound, she’s not going to let anything stand in her way. Especially romance...which is far less dependable than algebra.

When Leah receives surprising results from the DNA test she submitted to a genealogy site, she solicits Sebastian’s help. Together, they comb through hospital records to uncover the secrets of her history. The more powerfully they’re drawn to each other, the more strongly Sebastian must resist, and the more Leah must admit that some things in life - like love - can’t be explained with numbers.

Loved the story but the reader is a bit choppy

Good story full of romance and some mystery. I really don't care for this lady's style of readying - feels choppy to me and not smooth flowing but the story was worth listening to her even though sometimes it was a bit annoying.

God is always with us!

I really enjoyed the story line and characters. The voice of Leia was slightly annoying at times. A little too sweet but liked the character.

I would definitely recommend

I really enjoyed the development of the characters throughout the story. The was an interesting subplot of finding identity that was interesting and an enjoyable component to the storyline. I appreciate how faith in God was interwoven and the romance was so sweet. Really enjoyed this story.

Powerful Inspy Romance

I am amazed at the power of this novel! The heroine, Leah, is a math prodigy (think of a female Sheldon Cooper), and the hero, Sebastian, is a pediatric heart surgeon (all the sighs) with a painful childhood. Becky Wade seriously nailed everything a contemporary Christian romance should be with this book.

great story...reader not so much

it was hard to get past the reader of this book. the book /story was great. I would rather have read the actual book as I felt reader ruined the characters.

Not The best

I don’t know if it was the narrator dragging down the story or if the story just wasn’t as good as some of the author’s other books but This is not the best Becky Wade book I read or listened to. Story was ok but the heroine left something to be desired. Which takes me to the narrator. The best I can say is her enunciation is clear. Unfortunately, for me, the narrator completely struck the wrong tone or vibe of 20-30 year olds in modern day. She made the heroine sound like a 70-year old grandmother speaking to a 5-year old instead of a 28-year old speaking to her contemporaries. The pacing had weird pauses and the way the heroine spoke was like the 1950’s. It just didn’t work. I didn’t find Leah, the heroine, all that relatable nor did I understand Sebastian’s or Ben’s attraction to her. Sebastian by far is the most interesting character but most of the story is about Leah. Wish there was more insight into Sebastian along the way versus the end. In any case, it’s an ok story with subpar narration. Maybe my opinion of the narrator dragged the story down. I’ve enjoyed Wade books much more than this one.

Too many loose ends…

The author does a great job telling the love story in the book. That particular story line had a nice conclusion. However, there are a couple other story lines that exist and are elaborated on throughout the book that simply don’t have a strong conclusion. By the end of the book, those subplots just don’t hold relevance any longer. Maybe she will come back to them at a later time? It just seemed that they could have been omitted altogether since they did not add or detract from overall arch of the story.
