Paul Noble
Paul Noble is a genius with a higher IQ than Einstein. Despite this, he still struggled with language learning at school. He found himself feeling "confused, incapable, and unable to really say anything". As a result of his negative early experiences, Paul has come up with a groundbreaking new method of language teaching that removes the need for months of study. With Paul Noble, everyone really can speak a language.
Part 1 of the course covers:
- Language ground rules
- Asking questions
- Introduction to verbs
At the hotel, a native-speaking German expert helps Paul to deliver the course and to perfect your pronunciation. No complicated grammatical explanations, no rote memorisation, no writing - no stress. Learn over 6,000 words in no time at all and - most importantly - learn how to make your new vocabulary work for you. A downloadable booklet is also included to use as a reference and revision tool.
Learn German with Paul Noble combines an exciting, new, nontraditional approach to language learning with the easy, relaxed appeal of an audio-only product. No books. No rote memorisation. No chance of failure.

Would you listen to Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1 again? Why?
Yes. Necessary to have repetition to learn a languageWould you recommend Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1 to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes. It works. By the end, German words and phrases have been burned into your brain.Have you listened to any of Paul Noble’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
N/AAny additional comments?
If you buy this Part 1, don't bother with Part 2, and perhaps 3 and 4 as well. Part 2 is a repeat of what was learned in Part 1. Although once you buy Part I you do not need to buy the other Parts, I was disappointed that I could not continue on in the series and learn more vocabulary. Instead, I had to switch to another language system.Repetition works

If you could sum up Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1 in three words, what would they be?
Completely new way to learn that is fantastic! You first learn to speak German with the English equivalents. So you are speaking German in English. You don't even know you are speaking German but you are. You learn sentence structure first, THEN you slowly learn real German words. You get comfortable with speaking German before you deep dive. This is perfect for me.What other book might you compare Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1 to and why?

What did you love best about Learn German with Paul Noble, Part 1?
I have completed introductory training at University (and won the Goethe Society prize so I didn't suck at it); but have to acknowledge that this was superior in so many ways. For a start grammar is acquired through practical exercises that equip you with useful vocabulary and sentence constructions. At Uni the emphasis was on the technical aspects of language, but even having done well, I found routine conversation difficult to manage. From there I tried all sorts of courses that really taught set phrases but didn't equip me for the various forms of response.Paul's teaching method produces astonishingly quick results. It treats language a bit like Lego and gives you the means to pull it apart and reassemble it to suit a range of practical situations. There's not the tiresome exercises of going through endless vocab lists etc common to many other courses.
I listened to this in the car to and from work for a month and really got value from it. By the way, it's very substantial (long) and that's a great thing because, relative to its cost, this provides tons of value.
Would you be willing to try another book from Paul Noble? Why or why not?
I've purchased # 2 and # 3 solely based upon my experience with the first bookWhich character – as performed by Paul Noble – was your favorite?
NAIf you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Paul's own voice was a little softly spoken at times - but never enough to be a problem and the young woman who does the German voice-over is extremely clear at all times and speaks at a good pace for learnersBetter than my University language training

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have tried various methods to learn German. This is, by far, the most sensible, effortless way to do that. Noble bases his teaching method on words and sounds that we're already familiar with and English and uses them for the basis of his course. He also spends considerable time talking about common-sense ways of remembering grammar rules, which can be particularly tricky in German. I recommend trying this approach before trying any physical books, software programs, or other audio approaches. What did you like best about this story?
Slow, methodical. Good repetition supports recall.Any additional comments?
Though I have not made it through all levels of the German series, my grammar and German sounds are quite good. A man approached me in Berlin trying to sell me something and I told him "I'm sorry. I don't speak German." In English he replied, "How can you tell me that you don't speak German when you just said that to me in perfect German!?" Odd reinforcement of Noble's teaching methods!Excellent Way To Learn A Language
