Lest Your Eyes Deceive You!

Narrator Bob Johnson's warm vocals and puppy-like eagerness provides the right touch for author Darlene Fredette's delightful Boy Meets Girl with ensuing craziness, a little legal business (which sounds like a potential thriller in the making), and myriad misinterpreted encounters. Although not "pure," bedroom doors are closed firmly so I would definitely rate it "clean."

Second chances contemporary romance

The story was well written but the main characters were aggravating at times! Two successful layers have to work together on a case. They had a great relationship six years ago until Steven had Christina fired for sexual harassment! Oh boy! That is a hard pill to swallow!

Narration was well done and brought the story to life.

Steven is quite irrational and always jumps to conclusions based on appearances. There are some twists and turns and things are fixings to get more complicated when she goes away to help her sister get things ready for a wedding.

Steven regrets his past mistakes and tries to get her back. He plays dirty in order to get to her. I wished I could have slapped him a few times but there is a HEA! Sweet story about second chances and misunderstandings.

Fun Chic Lit/Contempary Romance

This is a fun, serious and timely book about 2 lawyers. It focuses on their past and present as they meet, after 6 years, representing each side in a divorce dispute. The divorce dispute is secondary to the story of Christina Crawford and Steven Mitchell, as they cross paths in their professional and personal lives.

I would consider this 'chic lit' as well as contemporary romance. It is the perfect length for an afternoon of leisure or to be read/listened to in several sessions before bedtime (how I chose to listen to it.)

Bob Johnson is a good narrator, although I think I would have preferred dual narration M/F if given the choice, only because the book was about equal parts.

fun!

I enjoyed this sweet second- chance romance between two lawyers with good narration.

Legal Listen

I really enjoyed this legal listen that was a second chance at love for this couple. Five years have passed since Christina and Steven were involved with each other. They still have feelings and chemistry for each other even though Steven was the cause of their breakup. I enjoyed their banter and thought the imagery in the book was well done. Bob Johnson did a great performance with the emotions and characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. Was glad they got their HEA.

Interesting Story

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, via Audiobook Boom, and have voluntarily left this review." This story of how betrayal and misunderstandings can cause people to do strange things is wrapped around two sisters who ultimately fall in love with two brothers. It also shows how ruthless some lawyers can get when they want something. The narrator kept the story moving along and the HEAs that came out of the story were good. I recommend although the strong language could have been left out. It took away from the story for me.

a classy typical story

the story is good actually is not bad and how to say it right I did enjoy the story but I didn't approve the women character because she kind of pissed me off little bit "he hurt me but never mind I will let him do it again" it did piss me off a little but it's a classy good book and I'm giving it four stars

Star crossed lovers??

Christina is a divorce attorney and is on her way out of town when her boss asks her to stay a bit longer to assist him in the case of a family friend. When they meet with opposing counsel...Christina is faced w her ex! 5yrs ago they worked at the same law firm...she was an associate and Steven was a senior attorney. They had a brief affair but then Christina was fired for sexual harassment...all of which was Steven’s doing. Now it seems that Steven has learned the error of his ways and wants her back...will Christina acquiesce? Oh yea, he’s also the brother of her sister’s fiancé. Lots of jealousy-drama...really wanted to smack Steven on numerous occasions...buuuuut eventually got my HEA! Quick sweet story and great narration.

Twists and turns

An ending we don’t see coming between Christina and Steven. How can someone do such cruel things to someone they love? Love makes people do strange things. In this story we are captivated by Christina and her work. She had really worked for a career, seized early on by someone, she prevails not only professionally but personally too. Worth the listen. Reader was good, too.
