Bullets rip the air, snapping past Clay Barlow’s head as, riding Blue, he charges a band of robbers surrounding the Austin stagecoach. Clay lets loose with a load of buckshot from his 12-gauge Roper Repeating Shotgun. With his third blast, the robbers turn tail and race off into the Texas hill country, leaving one of their own dying in the hot Texas dust.

At 18, Clay has been invited to join the Texas Rangers. Now, he rides to Austin to either put on the Rangers’ badge or fight for the law in Texas courts, fulfilling his parents' wish that he become an attorney. Whether he protects Texas on the range or in the courtroom, his quick and deadly six-guns will not be stilled. Join Clay as his path takes him from brawls to blizzards to gunfights. The only question remaining is, will he survive to choose between law and justice?

I had never listened to a western book. I have tried to read a few but could never get through it. This book has changed my view. It took me until the 3 chapter to really get into the book but once I did I didn't want to put it down. I love that clay tried not to use his gun first but did when needed. The relationship with his grandfather made me think of mine! Would read again! The narrator's voice was great!!

I couldn't stop listening. Donald L. Robertson is a new author, to me at least, but I enjoyed his writing style. There are no slow spots in Law and Justice nor is there any boring repetitiveness. Plenty of action and suspense with a little romance and no filthy language.

Narrator Scott Miller does an excellent job. I can "see" events unfolding and appreciate his ability to enunciate every word properly. All in all the duo of Robertson and Miller make for an enjoyable experience.

Great Western, Great Narrator

Author Don Robertson had me from the very beginning. I couldn't wait to listen to the entire book because I had to know what happened next. For me there was never a dull moment. The narrator, Scott Miller was new to me and I though he had the perfect voice for this tale from the old west!

Law and Justice is Awesome!!

I am always on the lookout for a new western author. Donald L. Robertson has produced a great series called Justice. Our protagonist is Clayton Barlow. Clay is trying to decide whether to join the Texas Rangers or practice law. His grandfather is a retired senator and an attorney and talks Clay into going to New York City to law school. Clay graduates from Columbia University Law School and heads back to Texas. After reuniting with his horse, Blue, he discovers his grandfather has been shot in the back. Clay sets out to find out who did it.

The book is well written and is not stop action. Robertson does a good job with character development. Robertson writes in the pulp western fashion. This is a great old fashion action packed western. I can not wait to read the next book in the series.

The book is seven hours and 42 minutes. Scott Miller does a great job narrating the book. Miller is an actor and voice-over artist. This is my first experience with both the author and narrator.

A Rousing Tale
