Second book slump

I feel like this book was totally predictable. But I have to get book 3 just to see how they get out of this mess.

Enjoyed it but liked book 1 more

I don’t know why it took me so long to read/listen to this series, but I am so glad I did. I also cannot wait for book 3 to come out on audio, I need to know how things end for this pack after that doozy of a cliffhanger (and I am trying to have as much self control as I can so I don’t try and read book 3 before it comes out on audio haha).

First off, narration was done well. I think for me the big thing that kept getting me out of the story was Rhett’s accent lingered with some of the other characters when it shouldn’t have. Also I am not sure what Lex’s accent is but the narrators do vastly different ones so that was causing me to get out of the story. This one had a lot of emotion and heartbreak, a lot of groveling/forgiveness that really came through the speakers. Still would give it 4 stars, I could feel these characters pain and happiness and I appreciate the narrators performances a lot ❤️

In terms of the story I think this one backslid a little for me. I thought book 1 was a solid 4.5 for the story but this one was a 4 at best. I think because there was a lot of drama that felt like it was crammed all into this one book for effect and not to drive the plot. Some things were repetitive for me with rehashing things out for a certain character and him all of a sudden realizing (and then realizing it a couple times) that he was just as bad as Lydia’s ex. I think besides those couple things I enjoyed this book. I think what shocked me the most was Lex and her relationship with Lydia (all in a good way). I normally don’t gravitate to F/F but I loved how this added another level of complexity to the pack. I loved how she and Lydia could be so sweet in a different way Lydia could be with the male alphas and with the pack beta. Done really well, so happy they went there for this story. I loved how Lydia stood up for Lucas and vice versa. I loved the steam in this one! Especially the kinky awesomeness hahaha. Needed a cold shower after that if you know what I mean haha. I also loved the romantic and cuteness overload we got in certain parts. It was a good mix of all those things.

OH and the baddies in this one.....man a lot of people need some karmic justice in this book after what her family is putting Lydia through (the wedding was so high-tensioned for me and I enjoyed it but I wanted to kill a ton of characters haha. Except her new sister in law, she was adorable, and her younger brother). I cannot stand Seth and I hope he gets what’s coming to him in book 3 or get the help he needs. There are so many layers to this epic world and storyline, I don’t know how this author wraps it all up nicely in just one more book! But I am excited to find out hopefully in a couple months when book 3 is out on audio 😍😍😍.

Excellent continuation

It picks up where we left off but again ends in a cliffhanger, regardless this one is even better and more intriguing than the first. I really enjoyed the development of these characters and getting a bit more from different POVs. I’m excited to see how this ends. Narration was done well and really made it an enjoyable listen.

I am in love with this story and I can’t wait until the third book is out on audible. The ending broke my heart!

Love this Omegaverse! Great Story & Listen🎧

It is great to be back in Thora Woods’ “Pack Saint Clair” omegaverse world again, this is a continuation of Lydia Anderson and her new pack mates’ story which started in “Lilacs and Leather”, and needs to be read or listened to first. The world building starts there and the author lays down the foundation for what is to come, this book picks up right after that one ended, and what an ending it was. Lydia is fitting in nicely with the pack, getting familiar with the dynamics of everyone’s relationship while trying to deal with her own inner demons and her messed up family situation, the pack she left and the brute who tried to force a mating bond on her. The plot thickens on that front too, since she is being forced to return back there for a family wedding. Simon continues to be a thorn in the side of the pack and Alexandria finally comes clean as to why she is handling things the way she is. I am loving the pack dynamics with Alexandria, Rhett, Matteo, Lucas, and Lydia, despite having some growing pains, they just work and the chemistry between them is smoking hot and so is their fierce protectiveness of Lydia. They come up with a plan to keep her safe while attending the wedding, plus they set their own plan into action to help rid of the leaches who birthed her. There is never a dull moment in this cleverly plotted story, the drama is non-stop, the romance heats up even more and there are some more twists and turns, some heartfelt and emotional moments and an ending that you did not see coming. Thora Woods, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride, I am looking forward to what happens next for Pack Saint Clair.

They have given each character their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who and are believable in every role they play. They continue to set the perfect tone for the story, capture all the character’s emotions and project them into their performance, making you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to and their performance enhances the story to another level of greatness. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Omegaverse Romance

Lavender and Lightning by Thora Woods is an omegaverse romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Matt Haynes and Maeve York. This is the second book in the Pack Saint Clair series.

This is the second book of Thora's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I am loving the relationship that is blooming between Lydia, Rhett, Mateo, Lucas, and Alexandra. It's messy but you can't but root for them. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of views throughout the book.

The book ended on a great cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait for the next book in the series Laurels and Liquor to be released on audio so I can get more of their story.

Matt and Maeve did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like omegaverse romances or contemporary romances.

Jumping right back into the action, this sequel not only continues the thrill but cranks it up a notch, leaving us hanging on the edge of our seats once more! The character growth is a blast to follow, especially with the added bonus of diverse perspectives.

Curiosity is piqued as we eagerly await the resolution to this enthralling tale. The narration? Spot-on, transforming the story into an immersive and delightful listening experience. Dive in for more reasons to love this series!

Spicy and suspenseful!

Lydia and Pack St. Clair’s story continues with a threats coming at them from all sides! Such a good story and the narrators’ performances are perfection!

WOW

I love Maeve York. These Books are good like super good started out a little slow but once they got going, HOT DAMN!!! The Author takes you on a ride and can make you all sorts of steamy.

Loving this series

This series is seriously intense and full of anxiety, in the best possible way. I felt like this story had me. In it’s grip from chapter one, and it continued into this book, and I have no doubt that it will bleed into the final book, which I can’t wait to finish. We learn so much more in this book, about all of the characters’ pasts and why they haven’t done more to get Seth and Daron out of their lives. We also see Lydia do her best to stand up to her parents and go after the life she wants.

Narration: Dual narration, first-person present tense, with some flashbacks.

Lydia is working on becoming an official part of the Saint Clair pack, but when it comes to her and this pack, nothing ever goes as planned. One thing after another keeps putting Lydia and the people she loves in danger, and it makes her want to run to keep them safe.
