Resumen del Editor

Not many detectives stumble across a crime in the midst of a late-night tryst. But that's exactly what happens to Lavinia Lake and Tobias March, the prickly and passionate pair from Slightly Shady and Don't Look Back, when their weekend getaway at a posh country house turns into a full-fledged manhunt for a killer who targets wealthy older men who are about to wed young beauties. With all the intrigue, humor, and sizzling dialogue that make up her previous best sellers, Amanda Quick delivers a beguiling period romance filled with mystery as well as charm.

Loved it!

I am a Amanda Quick groupie and have read and listened to so many of her books. I really liked this narrator. She did great with the characters!

This is another murder mystery featuring Tobias and Lavinia. I liked this book the best featuring these two. I thought it was clever, fun and it keep my interest as well as we always enjoy the love aspect between the two of them. Love Ms. Quick's humor, kept it lively.

Another well done!

Enjoyable Series and a Satisfying Conclusion

I love the Lake and March series. Of the three books, this one is perhaps my favorite because it portrays a mature love between the protagonists, something unusual in the standard HR. I would recommend reading the series in order, though. I particularly loved the narrator, although I preferred to speed the narration up to 120.

Best of the Trilogy

This was perhaps the best of the 3 novel trilogy encompassing the adventures and progressing love story of Lavinia Lake and Tobias March. They are a more mature couple having each experienced loss before but with each novel their love deepens, along with a growing respect they share for their respective investigative skills. The same narrator, Josephine Bailey, is used for the 3 novels and she does a wonder job bringing each character to life with her amazing ability to create unique and appropriate voices for each. I loved by book three that the returning characters mixed with new character introductions and a sharp storyline left me wanting more after the closing chapter. This is a trilogy where it is very important to read the books in order.

Deeply depressing narrator

Ananda quick is an excellent writer
She however has a problem with finding good narrators
I have not been able to listen to these last two
Books as the narrators voice is monotonous and dreary.

Wonderful story, poorly narrated

I tremendously enjoy Amanda Quick's novels, they are engaging and fun. This is one of my favorite's, I enjoy Tobias & Lavinia's interactions. However, the English accent of the narrator was forced and consequently she overly enunciated each and every word which was very distracting to the story. A real shame...

The Absolute Best

If you could sum up Late for the Wedding in three words, what would they be?

Riviting, thoughful, passionate

Who was your favorite character and why?

Imogen since she portrayed a strong, principled, passionate and smart woman; very relatable even to our modern women.

What does Josephine Bailey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hey tone, expression and accent brings the book alive. I can easily imagine being in the Old English City and part of the Ton.

If you could rename Late for the Wedding, what would you call it?

Memento Mori Men

Any additional comments?

I absolutely love Amanda Quick.... Was introduced at the Roanoke Public Library in 1995 and I've been a fan since. The books do come alive when narrated, especially in an English accent... Audible has blessed me since I now have unlimited access all the way in the Caribbean.

Loved the Story, Hated this Narrator

The narrator for the last two books was a bad choice. She can read other books, but if you start a series and the first book has a narrator with such a distinct voice, as is the case with Barbara Rosenblat (operative word, series), to switch it at the second book is equivalent to robbing the listener.
