Kathy fell into her sister’s embrace in the Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital lobby in Chicago.

“Just give me the road,” she whispered into the safety of her sister’s arms. “I don’t care how long it takes, just give me the road.”

Less than 12 hours earlier, Kathy’s 18-year old son Conor was hit by a car and suffered a life-threatening brain injury while crossing the street in downtown Chicago.

So good

I am blown away! I don’t remember who recommended this book to me, but I couldn’t put it down. I’m a middle school counselor in a small suburb of Dayton, Ohio, close to where the book takes place. I have studied under Ann Anzalone and am fascinated by the brain, as I have neurological issues (epilepsy). Such beautiful words!! Such a beautiful story!
