He is also one of only three players in NBA history to score at least 30,000 points.
Erving retired in 1987 after playing 16 seasons in the ABA and the NBA combined. His slam dunks and scoring prowess made him one of the most recognizable names in basketball. His impact on basketball is immeasurable. He was one of the first players to truly revolutionize the sport and helped lay the groundwork for what we see today.
