I am truly enjoying this book! I am on Chapter 11. The author did such a great job aligning scripture, history, culture. while still developing the characters and story. Great job!

Great Biblical Fiction

This was a very good book. I loved the story line and the way so many parts of scripture were woven into the characters’ lives. A real depiction of how the believers in Jesus must’ve felt when He was beaten and crucified; and how the new church in Jerusalem began. The narration was tolerable but not nearly as enjoyable as a real person’s voice. Some I’ve tried I just quit at the beginning. I listened to the entire book, so maybe the fake voices are getting better. Sad though, just another way to put real people out of a job.

This book is fantastic, I loved it from beginning to end. I felt like I was there, captivated, excited and moved

Excellent storyline...poor virtual voice

Story and characters are wonderful. I had a hard time getting through this one though. Virtual voice ...should not be used. Lacks inflection and nuance needed for storytelling.

The message of Love

The story was well thought out and lined up with scriptures. What took away from the book was the narration. This was flat, like the book being read to you by a computer, with little inflection and names were spelled out or pronounced incorrectly.

Jesus is real!

The Love for God and trust in him starts early. Jesus brought peace and love.

Sweet story

Loved the way they intertwined the Bible with the story but had a really hard time with the accent of the virtual reader. If I come across anymore books with a whiney English accent I will probably pass

Faith of the new believers

Just life in general is difficult but having weight all conversations with the surroundings of fear , mistrust and evaluatingrelationships that is the stuff grace and faith are worth total surrender!

Famtastic Book

I read the Publisher's review. But the review didn't do this book justice. This is the story of a family who lived during the time of Jesus. As a cultural expose, the writing is very informative. The several families have members who are more difficult and those members who are easier to get along with. Some of the characters are more difficult than others while others are more encouraging. Much as is today. How the families react to the public discourse of Jesus is most interesting.
Although I am not a fan of virtual voice, it was not too challenging to discern what the author was trying to say.
