Marine Logan Hughes uses humor like a shield because the twists and turns his life has taken have led him far from the path he was supposed to tread. He's no priest, and despite his parents' continued hope, he has no desire to become one. Still, he's no devil, either.

So when his attempt to protect an innocent person lands him with two choices - the brig or marriage to a woman he doesn't know - he chooses marriage. Which means denying his family's plans for him once and for all.

Lena Reed doesn't find it funny at all that three times her father has sent a man to help with her ranch, and three times one of her sisters has married him. She's not falling for that trick. She was born to run the cattle operation at Two Willows, and no man is going to take that away from her.

So when Logan arrives, she'll do whatever she can to keep him at arm's length. Only problem is the marine refuses to stay there. Bit by bit, he's wearing down her resistance to him. But will giving into her feelings mean giving up her dreams?

Contains mature themes.

lena pissed me off the whole book and she is freaking abusive towards Logan. Lena is a straight up man hater, I felt bad for Logan. I honestly think I listened to the story to hear how the drug cartel was gonna come after the farm. SMH narration was good tho

liked but no loved

I have really enjoyed this series and I love the way Cora Seton writes, but this one was just to much. Lena is a man hater to the hundredth degree like so over the top it’s unbelievable that she ever married Logan. The men always have to bend to her demands and she never compromises. She gets to be a bossy, grumpy B and everyone just has to deal with it. There is being an independent woman and then there is being Lena.

Love the series but....

I can't believe that Logan and Lena are a couple. On the outside it appears they wouldn't have much in common and yes, get on each other's nerves. And they do, or at least he does her. Until the finally get a chance to really communicate. In the end, it works.

I am so looking forward to the last story. Why do we have to wait so long?

What did you love best about Issued to the Bride One Marine?

Logan was a great hero! He was such a man's man but he knew just how to treat women. He had such a good heart. He was very loyal to those he loved, a man of honor and wanted to protect those he cared about.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Issued to the Bride One Marine?

The scene where Logan proposed to Lena. He said what was from the heart and it was very romantic.

Which character – as performed by Wendy Tremont King – was your favorite?

Again, Logan. He was my all around favorite character in the story. He was strong and didn't let Lena run over him.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The conversation Logan had with his mom about his life choices and in turn she told him a little about her life with Logan's dad and how it was in the beginning. She lovingly accepted that Logan didn't want to follow the plan his parents had for him. She let him know she understood in such a loving way.

Any additional comments?

While I liked this story I really, really didn't like Lena. She was hateful, mean and bossy to everyone around her, especially Logan. Three times in the story she went after Logan with a rake and tire iron for absolutely no reason other than she was angry. If a man did that to a woman in the story, readers would be furious. I'm not sure why it was okay for Lena to do this to Logan. Another point, I've read a lot of this author's books and in every one of them the woman starts off mean and hateful to the hero in the story. Not sure I understand why the heroine in these stories have to be quite so awful to the heroes.

Lena fell in love! None of the Reed women can turn down a man in uniform with cowboy boots!
The next and final book should be good, the General is coming home! Once again, Wendy Tremont King has a style that has me re-listening to the 1st four books! She keeps me company when I travel for work. From Colorado to Nebraska to Florida, Wendy Tremont King is always with me!

Love a Marine!
