Dang oh Mighty

Ok Seriously??? I don't like books that bring tears to my eyes. Dang oh freaking mighty! ARG! That part was both written and read well, I had to stop this book a few times. There are certain emotions I don't admit to having and I don't appreciate something bringing them out in me. Holy Smokes. Cheese is Crusty!! lol Some of the things Mercy says you just have to stop everything and write it down for future reference. This book goes over an event that no one should ever go through and the manipulation is so thick, I was ... Well I don't want to talk about it... If the next book exploits these emotions again, I don't think I will buy book 5.

Yes, I've listened to almost all of Mercy's adventures and this is in the top 4.

Felt bad when Mercy had her free will taken away.

A Dark Chapter

Iron Kissed is the third book in the Mercy Thompson series, and it's a real dark chapter for Mercy and friends. Mercy helps Z and the other Fae with a series of Murders on the reservation. Things go sideways and Mercy is on her own to help solve a wrongful accusation. Mercy ends up involved in Fae politics and situations that could lead her to her death. Mercy's love life takes a step forward in this book as well, which seems to be good for her and gives her a stepping stone towards recovery. I liked this book a lot and thought both the author and narrator did a great job dealing with some very sensitive subject matter. It was written and performed tastefully and in a manner that fit the tone. Iron Kissed is a great entry in the series, and if you enjoyed the previous two, this one is definitely worth continuing with.

Out of all of the Mercy Books.....

Out of all the Mercy Thompson book this one was the hardest one for me....but I understand why Patricia Briggs did it. As much as we like for our heroin to be invincible the experiences of the character make them who they are. It was very heartbreaking for me ( I cried) but it also can be inspiring because it taught me we can go on and live inspite of what happens bad and good in life.

My favorite new series!

I'm late to listening to this series. I'm glad, be6that means there's plenty of awesomeness ahead. Gah! Onward to book #4 I love a strong female lead, that doesn't simper to the men.

After reading other reviews, some I deem as unfair I need to say something. The story, and how Mercy is affected is right on the money.

***Spoiler alert*******

I was raped at 11. Here's the thing grown men can make a child's body respond making the child feel as if it is their fault, like they wanted it. Was this story rough? Yes! But Mercy going through it how she went through it was almost right on the money. The feelings afterwards of being undeserving of love, being dirty, are the same damn feelings you might have years after these incidences. The fairy cup turned Mercy into a child looking for approval, though she is an adult. I'm glad Patricia did it this way. I'm left wondering if she is perhaps a survivor of something similar.

Be warned that you may need to fast forward through some parts if you are easily triggered. But trust me when I say I've listened to the entire series so far, and much like it did me, this crime perpetrated against Mercy makes her stronger!

The series so far had kept my attention and I love the lore used.

This is one of the best books in the series as well as a turning point for the lead characters. It is a most read for those who are invested in the series.
