Changed my life!

The whole exposition was eye opening and reached into my soul. Have been a believer all my life and a seeker for most of it. Now I am 73 and feel if I never read another book —I get it.

The Challenge of Romans

I deeply love that Bishop Tom continually challenges complacent acceptance of "what we've always supposed" about any and all of the Books & Letters of the New Testament.

This is quite a thorough response to John Piper's attempts to devalue & denigrate Bishop Tom's scholarship
& study.

The READER makes the BOOK a hard listen

The subject matter, as always with NT Wright, is fascinating and substantive! The reader knows this book is MONOTONE and has completed ruined a great book. Mixing in some inflection, measured expression, or any of the fundamental performance best practices, would have made this SO much better.

Coherent and thought-provoking

N. T. Wright has written a wonderful biography of Paul, as well as several other books. This deep dive into Chapter 8 of Paul’s Letter to the Romans presents an evolution into the author’s own thinking about the document. I especially enjoyed his explanation of the original Greek and the issues created by translations centuries later. Placing the text into its original context, first century CE, is a valuable contribution to Christian scholarship and theology. An excellent listen.

The narrator has a very nice voice, and does a nice job pronouncing Greek and Hebrew words .

It’s All About That Rock That Rolled!

Clarity about first century issues. Brings the text to life. Certainly centers on the heart beat of Paul’s most magnificent work.

Man’s vocation

Very clear presentation of Jesus as priest and king. Excellent highlight in Romans Chapter eight of how we are joined into Jesus’ vocation (co-ruling with Him)and share with Him the inheritance of this world. This is a very convincing interpretation of Rom. 5-8 as seen by Paul as stepping thru “New Exodus and Passover “. Inspiring look at what it means to be a fully developed “human”-fulfilling the priestly and ruling role of mankind created in God’s image.

N.T. Wright has done it again, with a beautiful down to Earth yet revelatory exposition of Romans 8.

In Jesus Christ our final and complete exodus is foretold and assured. We who believe have the blessed assurance that in his resurrection ours is certain.
