So many interesting facts!

I’ve always been curious about Vikings from then days of old but I never knew too much about them. This book explored the topic very well and gave me insights I never would have known about otherwise.

Fun and interesting!

I think this is a great book to have on in the background with your kids if you're doing things like playing with toys, playing board games or even perhaps doing chores like laundry, dishes etc. or even on road trips or camping trips to keep your kids entertained and engaged. I personally have heard a lot about Egyptian and Norse mythology, but this book covers mythology from all types of cultures that I wasn't familiar with. A standouts being aboriginal Australian and Maori mythologies. It also covers many more like indigenous North American, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Slavic and Baltic etc.

Good but a bit of information overload

Russo drew mythologies from all over the world, which I appreciated. By covering such a large scope, his overview had to be general in nature. There was SO many names of gods and demi-gods that I started to have trouble following. Maybe some family trees to show relationships would have helped with that. Not sure why he chose to number too, as he didn't relate that to his title or show it as a goal. But I did enjoy the book and look into different cultures. I hope Russo does some deep dives into specific cultures' myths.
