Resumen del Editor

Let the end...try the man.

Battle lines have been drawn, and forces have been gathered. But are Cas, Evie, and the rest of the crew of the USCS Tempest ready to engage the deadliest enemy they’ve ever had to face?

The Athru came into Coalition space, wiped out humanity, and disassembled the once-great galactic empire piece by piece. But why? What lies behind this obsessive need to destroy humanity?

While Evie fights to find out, Cas is done playing games. Now that he has the power of the Sil behind him, he’s ready to take the fight to the enemy. But Commander Sesster is getting worse by the day, and if they don’t do something soon, he won't survive. And as Evie takes it upon herself to obtain what could be a crucial piece of intel about the Athru, she discovers secrets she never could have imagined.

The crew has faced many obstacles together, but this will be their greatest challenge yet. Cas made a promise to protect all those under his command, and that’s exactly what he’s going to do, even if it ends up killing him.

Don’t miss this gripping final chapter in the Infinity's End series! The epic saga comes to a thrilling conclusion in this adventurous space opera! Get yours today!

thoroughly enjoyed this tale!

While initially, I felt that the storyline of the series started out a bit "cheesy" it soon sucked me in and I was driven to follow Cas, Bot and Evie to the end! This was the best audio book I've listened to in quite some time.

Exceptional Conclusion to what is a Epic Series!!

Infinity’s End opens with the Tempest and her crew deep in Sil Territory at their homeworld of Thislea. Cas, Evie, Zenfor and the rest of the crew are all trying to work with the Sil Sanctuary to convince them to join with ‘Tempest’ and fight the Athru, with the argument that eventually they will turn on the Sil to, and that Evie is an evolved Human, and that Human’s are worth saving, that they are capable of much more and not inferior as the Sil believe.
Together, along with some guidance from Evie’s biological Mother, Esterva, they have come up with a new weapon to use against the Athru, but before the Sil will commit to anything, they require intel on the Athru.
As they are considering all their plans, Cas receives dire news, Sester has less than a week to live, unless they can get him to Claxian Prime, and possibly other Claxian’s may be able to help him.
At the same time, Evie starts to doubt if their course of action, is the total annihilation of the Athru actually the right idea? What has made the Athru so intent on destroying humanity? And what are they doing at Earth?
It is whilst they are trying to both work out how to solve this issues, Cas to save Sester, and Evie, her own inner feelings, that someone from the distant past suddenly arrives, out of the blue, on board a converted Coalition starship, heavily modified with Sargan technology, as well as some other technology that will make getting into Athru territory a lot easier. This makes for a really interesting switch up in the story, as well as the storylines, and opens a whole new set of intrigue, as well as interpersonal plays between the Characters. It is these little things that really give us an insight into who the Characters really are, their motivations, relationships, allegiances, it is so well done.
I don’t want to give anything away, but this final book is just a stunning conclusion to what has been easily one of the best sci-fi series I have ever read (or listened to). The series has been such a powerfully gritty, Character driven storyline, following mainly Cas, but also Evie, and at times, Box and some other characters as well.
It has allowed us to see not just the stories of these Characters, and those that have interacted with them, but it has also given us quite a clear impression of both the Coalition, and the Sargan Commonwealth (before Athru intervention), how they operated, the political nature of these entities, as well as the raw underbelly of both, and how even though most assume the Sargan’s to be more disreputable, the Coalition has a lot of rot in it as well.
Cas and Evie’s stories also allows us to see other cultures as well, including the Sil, and the Bulaq, as well as some insight into the Athru themselves. It has been a fascinating adventure through so many extraordinary different major and minor characters, and in this finale, Warren does justice to it all, wrapping it up in a way that not only covers all the outstanding storylines, but provides a few surprises that will you stunned and in awe. Some parts will leave you with a grin, others, with a tear in your eye. Warren has made a real effort to bring closure to this wonderful series, but at the same time left it open enough that there is the possibility of further adventures in this universe.
Warren’s Character writing has just been exceptional throughout this series, as he has captured each and everyone of his Characters with such extraordinary skill, creating this individual masterpieces that are incredibly powerful and gritty, with so much emotional depth. Cas’s constant struggle with his role on board the ship from the first day, through to the final book (no spoilers!!), is just so real, you can really understand the issues that he is dealing with on a daily basis. Especially his angst with Box, which is just hilarious at times, and at other times, you are just cringing along with Cas.
Evie’s evolution from the first book to this one has been an emotional rollercoaster, with a deep look into the psychological makeup of who Evie is, and it led to a very interesting outcomes on multiple levels. Evie is such a multi-faceted character, with her Athru mind and her Human consciousness.
Evie’s character is easily one of the most intriguing in this series.
There are so many other wonderful characters in this series and this books as well (Laura, Page, Veena, Xal, Zenfor, Sester, I could sit here all day listing them, each of them was just exceptionally well written, with their own unique personality, giving the story their own perspective, and altering it, in their own way, even the minor characters.
The other extraordinary aspect of this book (and series), has been the World (Galaxy) building, which has not only been multi-faceted, creative, and impressively detailed, but the quality of the depth to which Warren goes is just inspired.
There is such incredible descriptions of every aspect of the lives they lead, and the world’s the live in and visit, each of the Alien species, and the clothes they wear. This extends to the technology they use, the ships, and weapons, the various components, the technology on the starships, including things like the drives the Sil use, and the weapons that are mounted on each of the ships. These things are described in such stunning and intricate detail.
Warren’s ability to create, and describe within his world are just masterful, and make it truly epic.
Overall, this is everything the finale book in a series should be, continuing to build the incredible Characters that we have come to know and love throughout the series, but at the same time, giving us a bit of closure on them to. The great thing is, Warren has done what all good Authors do, and has given us the closure we need for this particular series, but sets the characters (those that make it to the end), up for another adventure down the track (We can only hope!!)
This is a story you won’t be able to put down (I was seriously up until 4am in the morning finishing it), as you just have to know what happens. If you have read any of this series, you are going to want to read this book – amazing conclusion to what is an Epic Series!!
Larry Gorman is truly gifted as the Narrator of the series, with a very easy to listen to voice, that is clear and concise. This allows him to provide a fantastic range of male and female character voices that are very easy to understand, and are also very distinguishable, meaning that each Character in the story, has their own voice, so that you can easily pick out who is talking as you listen. More importantly, Gorman captures the raw emotions of each of the Characters, so that we can really feel and understand the characters as they go through the story. Gorman’s Narration is outstanding, and he really brings this Audiobook to life. This is easily one of those series in which you actually get more out of listening to the audiobook than you do reading the actual book, as Gorman’s Narration is just so good!!
