Great series!

Unlike so many books flooded online today, when the MC has the FC followed and the FC got kidnapped, she said “I would be angry if you DIDNT have someone follow me”.

Do you know how refreshing that is??? That alone makes this series 5 stars.

Narration isn’t that great, but it’s not bad. Once you get used to it, you forget how bad it is 🤭

Liked the first, hated the second

The first book in the series was okay, but I did take issue with an ancient immortal with the mentality of a victim. But I get it, she’s broken because of her immortality. The resolution of the plot in the second is so lame though. Hint, it’s not a big fight but it’s how kids end a fight.

Immortal Games is a well written and well developed book. The characters are engaging and the plot is fast paced and interesting. I look forward to the next book.

I love the uniqueness off her character and the humor. I also like that characters with tough outer shells turn out to be softies

DNF

I'm done. I've gotten halfway through this book, and I can't take it anymore. Imogene is such an idiot. The author tries to excuse it by saying that Imogene has no instincts & can't read people...even though there are plenty of times where she clearly does display gut instincts and the ability to read others. But really, all it means is that every time the bad guy steps into a scene it's immediately clear who he is (though a good chunk of the story is about trying to find him...just like in the previous book) and Imogene is bizarrely ignorant again and again. It's like the author is trying to excuse bad character choices in order to amp up the tension.

Honestly, this feels like a repeat of the previous book. Searching for someone hiding in the town. It's always clear who it is, but Imogene is just dumb enough to never see it until it's too late. They don't know what they're going to do once they've found him, but they're just searching.

The side characters are somewhat interesting, but the heroine is immature and makes dumb decisions right and left.
