Among the first seven scrolls discovered in the caves of Qumran at the Dead Sea is a scroll given the name "The Book of Giants". It is thought to have been based on the Book of Enoch, a pseudepigraphical Jewish work from the third century BCE. The Book of Giants, like the Book of Enoch, concerns itself with the Nephilim, which are the offspring of fallen angels, who are called the Watchers. Two main versions of the text exist. The apocryphal work known as the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs professes to be, as its name implies, the utterances of the dying patriarchs, the sons of Jacob. In these, they give some account of their lives, embodying particulars not found in the scriptural account, and build thereupon various moral precepts for the guidance of their descendants. The book partakes also of the nature of an Apocalypse: The patriarchs see in the future their children doing wickedly, stained with the sins of every nation, and thus they foretell the troubles impending on their race.

Found in the Apocrypha, The Books of I & II Esdras use supplemental materials taken from II Chronicles and Nehemiah to revise the book of Ezra, which is contained in the Bible. Esdras is the Greek form of Ezra, which is Hebrew. The story about the King of Persia questioning the three young men is found in this book as well. The King asks the three to enter into a debate over his question, "What is the strongest thing in the world?" He promises to reward the winner with a prize. This book is not included in the Roman Catholic Bible.
In The Book of II Esdras, Ezra has conversations with angels who are sent to him so he can question them about theology. There is an amazing account that describes the loss of all Hebrew Scriptures during the Babylonian exile of the Jews. In the story, Ezra recites these Scriptures perfectly, inspired by God. Ezra dictates the Scriptures to five scribes exactly. He also dictated 70 secret books which were to be read only by wise people. Second Esdras is said to be included as one of these 70 additional books.

Very enlightening!
How this was not entered into the Holy Bible, such as The King James Version, is obviously a big mistake. Written around the time of Ezra, Jesus, The Son Of God is named and foretold accurately as the Messiah. Amazing!!!
Blessed be the those saints who assembled the Orthodox Bible!!!

Wimpy narrator.
I couldn't deal with this narrator. I need a simple reading of this book and not have it acted out like a children's play. Mr. Rogers sounds like a grizzled biker compared to this wet noodle narrator. Didn't last 10 minutes with this audio version. Just read a book like a normal person please. Why are books related to Christianity read in this style and with music and junk like that? Terrible to pay attention for studying.
