⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value for Aspiring Authors

How to Write Romantasy by Jenna Moreci is a clear, practical, and highly accessible guide that breaks down the core elements of romantasy in a way that’s easy to understand and immediately applicable; especially for newer writers.

As a rookie writer, I found this book incredibly informative. It fully achieved its main goal: teaching the fundamentals of writing romantasy in a way that feels structured, approachable, and encouraging rather than overwhelming. Jenna Moreci explains the genre with clarity and confidence, making complex concepts feel manageable and actionable.

I personally learned a lot from this book. From balancing romance and fantasy to understanding reader expectations, tropes, and pacing, the advice felt purposeful and grounded in real experience. It’s the kind of guide that makes you want to sit down and start writing immediately.

The only thing I wished for—purely as an addition, not a flaw—was a section dedicated to point of view choices, including the professional terminology and how different POVs impact romantasy storytelling. That topic would have been a valuable complement to the otherwise thorough guidance provided.

Final thoughts
How to Write Romantasy is an excellent resource, especially for beginner and early-stage writers. It’s informative, practical, and motivating, and it delivers exactly what it promises. A strong five-star read that I would confidently recommend to anyone looking to understand and write within the romantasy genre.

Exactly what I was looking for!

Typically a writing craft book will be educational, and hold back on personal opinions. This book is not one of those books.

If someone has read exactly one romantasy book and decided to write their own, this might be a helpful read. But if you’ve read a number, or written anything in your life, this is likely not worth your time.

Despite constant denial, this book is FULL of bias
