My name is Julie Hoffman. I am a 44-year-old mother of two. I was an A/R supervisor for an oil company for 21 long years until the day they outsourced my job, and I suddenly found myself unemployed. I was devastated, heartbroken and felt betrayed all at the same time. I had $18,632 in my company retirement account, and they paid me two weeks of salary as a severance payment.
After recovering from the shock, I started to apply for any and all jobs I could find online, but sadly didn't even land one interview. Around this time I read a success story about a lady who owns three thrift store business in Kentucky. I became inspired by her success and found a way to contact her.
We spoke for a while, and she seemed genuinely nice and helpful as I told her my situation. She explained to me that this is one business which doesn't require many skill sets but only some serious dedication and passion to be successful. She said anyone could do it. She gave me some pointers and told me to work on them and to call her if I needed any help.
A week after we first spoke, she called me up and offered to start a partnership venture with me, I was delighted, a little shocked and very happy to have her as my partner. So our journey started.
