In the colder regions of the United States, the risk of death from hypothermia and frostbite is eight times that of the non-homeless. Between the years 1999 - 2005, the National Coalition for the Homeless recorded 472 violent crimes against homeless people by non-homeless people; 169 of which were murders.

I learned an unexpected lesson

This book wasn't like any I would normally read. However, I've always been intrigued by living in small spaces, and that was my reason for selecting this book. The unexpected lesson I learned from the book was empathy for someone who becomes homeless due to circumstances or by choice. The details in the book were interesting, though I never did figure out how a person living in a storage unit would be able to make it appear locked while inside the unit.
