Resumen del Editor

Learn to navigate the harshness of life with soft power. In her debut book, Lotte Jeffs weaves powerful life experience with practical advice and a psychological deep-dive into what truly constitutes an emotionally rich and meaningful existence. She speaks to everyone from agony aunts and archaeologists, to pop stars and novelists, to explore a diverse picture of what it is to truly live life well.

How to be a Gentlewoman will teach you how to slow down, lean out, recognise good relationships and let go of the bad, create a space you love, find your people and construct a happy and 'joined up' sense of yourself.

The gentle antidote to a brutal world.

For fans of Dolly Alderton's Everything I Know About Love and Elizabeth Day's How to Fail.

Well Written Book for Modern Classy Women

I read this book from a recommendation in my femininity group and it is great story telling with actual useful advice for how a women who wants to be gentle could curate her life to be a more thoughtful person.

Very little helpful advice, mostly personal anecdotes and lots of 3rd wave feminism preaching

Nicely written, and pleasant to listen to however… The title seemed to imply a more traditional classic how-to-be-lady-like-with-a-modern-twist coaching type of read. I was hoping for practical insights to help me in my journey, but instead was blind sided with lgbt stories, 3rd wave feminism, and political beliefs shoved down my throat. I kept thinking that “well, I’m not sure why all these other things are in this book, (that’s not what I’m looking for in this kind of book) but maybe its just this one chapter”… But it just keeps going. Any actual advice is mostly run-of-the-mill sad to say.

So much fluff

Should maybe be classified as a memoir because it talks so much about the authors personal relationships and then to add to the confusion: a risotto recipe. I couldn't even finish it on audio.
