Resumen del Editor

Winters are typically quiet and uneventful in Northern Michigan - but when Marge Christensen arrives in Traverse City to visit her mother, who is rehabilitating from a series of small strokes, Marge and her aunt soon become embroiled in trying to solve the deaths of two old ladies. Although the women resided in different nursing homes, is there a connection - or are the witnesses simply senile old ladies who are imagining intruders?

Join Marge as she once again steps outside the box to get to the truth of what happened; while she discovers truths about her relationships with her only sister and mother.

An exciting cozy Mystery!

How Many Old Ladies Will Die is a very enjoyable cozy mystery about a bunch of old women dying. Is there a reason for this or is there a serial killer on the loose? This is a Marge Christensen Mystery novel #5. This is my first listen by this author and this narrator. I truly enjoyed listening to this book and I particularly like how the narrator captured Grandmas mixed up words. Grandma had a possible stroke or something, they weren't quite sure what, but when Grandma tried to speak, all her words came out mixed up & garbled. Since Grandma had this happen to her, her daughter had her put in a home until she was better.

We follow along with Marge, Grandma, and some other family members (even a grand daughter) as they try to discover if Grandma really saw anything or if it was just in grandmas head. Many parts in this book are very creative & quirky. I even found some laughs in it. I loved how the cops always tried to get Marge to let them do the police work, yet she was always there one step ahead of them. Marge's husband is also a detective in Michigan and the detective on the case even asks Marge is her husband had any better luck keeping her out of his business (too funny). I won't go into too much detail as this will ruin the story! I will tell you I loved the story and the ending had me completely fooled. I did NOT see that coming!

The author, Patriicia K Batta totally captured my interest in this book. While I read the excerpt about the old women and murders, I couldn't quite imagine how it would all fit together. This book was so good, I read it all in one sitting! The narrator, Darla Middlebrook did a fabulous job capturing the aura of the characters! Like I said earlier, I was very impressed with her voice for Grandma the most! Kudos to you both for a job well done!
