Our magic crystals are growing.

People arrive in the village faster than we can make room for them, but at least they find plenty to do here—from building the village to guarding the border against attacks by bandits and monsters. And not just any monsters, but monsters that haven't been seen in this neighborhood before.

Is that a coincidence? Or are rumors of something going on outside the borders of the Empire not just rumors?

Whatever's behind them, I'll deal with it!

If you can get used to the narrator, it's pretty fun. not going to blow your mind, but is fun.

Above average story, Narrator just yells

so it sucks because the story is really good in my opinion and has a lot of good qualities between character development character growth and the potential growth of the village but it falls short in a few areas just like the first novel and in my opinion has the same faults

One big example is the constant life or death mind you like there's so many life or death battles that take place in just like 2 weeks from pretty much the start of the story And it's infuriating you go from hearing that the villagers have pretty much never had an issue with monsters in all the years that they've been there to no less than several monster attacks in less than 2 weeks and one major one with a class A monster who for whatever reason is immune to bullets immune to magic and can regenerate and is somehow intelligent enough to lead a monster hoard honestly it's so frustrating because we don't even get to see the main character even sleep that much because he's fighting so much And sure He's growing his power and his crystal and his town but to me it doesn't make up for the fact that he constantly has to fight for what amounts to no reason I understand The first couple of battles in the first book had to do with humans bandits and barons so I understand that being an issue but why so many monster attacks..... And why so many monsters somehow resistant to magic in a magic world

there's one other frustrating thing and that's his spirit fox friend Kai for some reason she can read the minds of people around her she can tell him what's going on like with omnipotence pretty much but for some reason he never uses her and when he asks her for things she's always vague and doesn't answer directly Even though she knows what he means it's like she plays games but she's specifically mentioned in the story that if he dies she dies and if somebody else grows a red crystal faster than the main character she also dies so it doesn't make much sense for her to be as stringent with the information I mean mind you he literally woke up to a battle in one case and had to go out and listen to the town broadcasting system to learn what was going on before he decided to go oh I can ask Kai not to mention the fact that she could literally just wake him up in emergencies as she did in one example in the first book....

another thing is the inconsistencies with time names and prices and rarity of items as the writer does not keep track of these things within the story One example with the names the writer accidentally uses the name of a monster wrong in the case of the digger/thrower The main character says that the thrower is from his world and the digger is from this world but we see a conversation later in the book where somebody uses the name thrower Even though this story specifically mentions that that's only a name from his world..... prices and rarity of items also fluctuate throughout the story in the beginning in the first book The purified pearls are extremely rare and a small air Pearl goes as much as 100,000 we get to the second book And now they're throwing around numbers like 10,000 to as low as a thousand then the main character says something stupid like in a few years the market's going to be down to a couple hundred because he's flooding the market with the pearls.... it doesn't make any sense One person can't destabilize the market by themselves no matter how much of a product they give And we're not talking about thousands we're only talking about dozens.... over an entire empire another thing is The same with the rarity 1 minute these pearls are extremely difficult to find next minute there somehow everywhere used in armor sets.... another thing is the times we go from the end of Battle with a digger saying that it's only been 2 weeks since sharky took over although I think the story meant to say two months then in a later discussion it's two months and 3 weeks pretty much a few days later...

One more issue is the constant battles the main character has to fight against he has magic from a different world that no one's ever seen before but for some reason basic shielding systems block his magic Even though it doesn't make much sense because the story has already shown that magic of a different type is not affected by the shield that's not associated with that type in the case of The attack on the bears compound he had to transform his bug into an Earth element to bypass a shield that is protected against water air and fire why would a shield that has to do with those three elements have anything to do with an illusion bug especially when the story shows later on that shields of a different type have no effect against different types especially in the case with the main character fighting bear where he used shadow magic to drain his energy Even though he had shields....anyways I digress....

The constant life or death
