Almost lost me with the accent and audio..

I enjoyed the build up of the story. I was captivated by each character. I was shocked at the end and did not suspect who turned out to be the villain. The audio almost made me not listen to this book but the speaker voice eventually grew on me or maybe it was because I was invested in the story.

Good coming of age horror

Nice story mixed with authentic pieces of Jamaican culture. The accents are horrible. Wish there story was read by a real Jamaican/Jamaicans

It's not engaging. Kinda boring

I saw the author on tv. I think on Jennifer Hudson show. The book sounded good. But the narrator is boring as there is no music or sound effects to really tell the story. I regret using my only credit on this

The twist at the end

Overall, I enjoyed the story. Somewhere in the middle I lost interest. After which, the story regained its momentum. Very interesting tale with unexpected twists and turns.

Intriguing

I love straight line this twist and turns, little romance scary.but not gory. It kept my interest.

Wonderful mystery

As a first generation American of Jamaican decent I truly loved the story and the spirit it contained. It made me miss Jamaica and I got three to four times a year! It was beautiful to hear this great story and all its twists and turns!

The duppy getting revenge over the woman who killed here and her courageous daughter being the hero!

Good story but very repetitive

The story and details are repeated so often that this could have been a short story. It would have been a good story. As with another reviewer I agree there is a major lull and it's hard to pull through.

Hard to Stop Listening

I liked everything! Suspenseful, curious, romantic, adventurous, exciting, relatable, and leaves you wanting the book to never end once you find out everything.

DNF, but also did not get past chapter 2. Terrible narration. I may try again reading on my own.
