Survive the day
That’s what Lyn told herself repeatedly as she was thrown into a series of insane events leading to a chaotic journey across the galaxy.

And to think it all started with making a little extra cash. All she had to do was take care of an innocent hologirl for a few months for her criminal underworld boss. That’s it, nothing more. Of course, it may have been useful for Lyn to know that Effie was carrying a dangerous secret within her matrix that powerful people would kill to acquire..

Now, Lyn will need to dig deep and find her inner hero while unraveling the truth behind Effie’s mysterious existence. But can she protect herself and the hologirl from overwhelming odds against an enemy with endless resources?

At first I thought the virtual voice would be ok, but it only accentuated the awkward interactions inherent in the book. To make things worse, the author never spends any time describing the surroundings and his descriptions of actions are also lacking. When you couple that with a sci-fi setting where these things NEED to be described because they can not be inferred, it makes for a lot of rewinding and head scratching. Then we come to the main character who is supposed to be some sort of odd jobs girl for criminals, but her interpersonal communication and general decision making are so bad that she should surely be dead by now. So that only leaves the Holo Girl "Tech," which so far seems more like completely unbelievable made up fantasy magic than science fiction. I mean, they are basically slime girls with some sort of seemingly unnecessary and never explained base station they must travel with for reasons. I just can't finish this book. Others may be OK with it, but I would suggest finding it in print.
