A yummy treat

I was gifted this book by Mrs. Carlyle and I have to say that i loved this short story. It was well written and performed beautifully. The story had great flow and both built anticipation and delivered great romance. I highly recommend and encourage others to buy and enjoy this story for themselves.

Amy Prince is a teacher and Josh Robert an actor. They met on campus while he was filming a movie. Their connection was electric. She felt she was a nobody and she was his next fling. She had doubts and lack of self confidence, Josh was intrigued by her, she wasn't interested in him as an actor, she wanted to know him as a person. She brought out his true feelings about himself. This story is about, fame, jealousy, following her heart only to get get it crushed, but things she saw weren't as they seemed.
Laurie West narration was very good giving all the angst, emotion, heartbreak, and love in this story. I was gifted this audio and offered ny honest review

Audible review. Sweet story of love between a movie star & a professor with a HEA. JP

Satisfying!

Amy Prince is a first year college professor teaching English Literature. She doesn't have the attention of her students today because they're too busy looking across the field at the movie set, hoping to catch a glimpse of the star, Josh Roberts. Amy isn't one bit impressed because she realizes that she's lost control of the discussion in class and mid-terms are just around the corner. There's no hope, but she's curious enough to take a glance out the window and there he is. She has to admit he's really good looking, but he's still interrupting her class. She runs into Josh as she's getting into her car and asks his name and doesn't treat him like a star. That has his attention! He's definitely interested and is waiting in her classroom to ask her for a date. Expecting to see Josh, she turns and recognizes that person in her room as her jealous and ruthless ex-boyfriend who decides that nobody else is going to have her, especially Josh Roberts. When Josh is beaten up in the parking lot, he spends time recuperating staying with Amy, finding out how normal people live. But another ex is waiting to disrupt their lives. Josh's ex-girlfriend and sometime fellow star won't let anyone steal "her man" and does everything she can do to keep them apart. Amy and Josh have some miscommunication problems and trust issues which threaten to tear them apart. They both need to get a spine and come clean with everything that bothers them. I want Josh to kick Caroline out of his sight so Amy can trust him. Amy feels like she's been betrayed and Josh is going to have to make that grand gesture to get her back. The epilogue is sweet and brings the whole story full circle. Satisfying! 
The narration is very well done by Laurie West. Each character's voice is clear and dynamic with a personality all its own. 

Very enjoyable!

I loved this book! Clarissa Carlyle is brilliant at spinning drama, intrigue, and romance, and her characters are absolutely fabulous. The main characters are complete opposites, Amy Prince, an English Lit, college professor and Josh Roberts, a celebrity actor, and now interrupting her classroom. The storyline is well-composed, capturing my attention from the very start through the end. Aside from the romance, passion, and drama, there are elements of danger and suspense created by a relentless and obsessive ex-boyfriend and girlfriend. I really like how Amy and Josh connected; however, they will have to overcome miscommunications and trust issues. I thoroughly enjoyed their story. I hope there will be more!

I thought Laurie West captured Amy and Josh's personalities, connections, and emotions very nicely. Hollywood Heartthrob is a well-written and enjoyable romance, and definitely worth the listen!

Weak Ending

I listened to this a couple of years ago but never cleared it from my history, nor did I write a review, so a revisit was necessary.

I remembered the first two-thirds or so, but I couldn't remember the ending. Honestly, it was as if the author lost steam and took a shortcut to finish it. I liked it all the way to the last few chapters. Then my interest waned dramatically. I now know why I didn't remember the ending.

Amy Prince and Josh Roberts come from very different worlds - she's a teacher, and he's a high-profile actor. It's cute to see the two worlds collide and how they react to each other. It's also appears to be very dangerous. I expected more from this angle.

There are some really cute moments. The way she reacted when they first met. How she made him feel normal. Sadly, the soft ending overshadowed many of the good things for me.

l listened to the audio. The narrator is Laurie West. I really like her as Amy. She's just OK as Josh.

Cliche`but that's how you want it

Ms. West's reading of this celebrity falling for an "everyday" woman had me from the start. The story is definitely cliche`, but isn't that how a romantic novel should read? Doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy it, though.
