Finished in one day!

On a rainy weekday, I got pulled into the story and forgot all about everything around me! Nora enchanted me again and I’m in love with Nash and Theo!

It's entertaining...

So I was really looking forward to this one after how much I enjoyed Identity and Mind Games. I'm mildly disappointed but the story is entertaining.

The time we spend with the antagonists is miserable. They're weird and I get the fanaticism angle but they're really annoyingly weird and the female antagonist calling the male antagonist "doll" was downright distracting. I found myself starting to skip bits just to get away from them. Also, the voice the narrator chose to use for Clara was grating.

The overall story was good but not as good as the last two books. This one feels like it got pulled out of storage, dusted off and mildly modernized. It's not bad at all, it's just not on the same level as those other two books.

What a mind twist

Whenever I read or listen to a Nora Roberts book I know certain things. 1. it will be well written, 2. well researched, 3. entertaining, 4. murder books will be disturbing

this book did all of that and my immediate reaction was what the #### is wrong with people that they become so twisted. Sloane is a strong character, strong both mentally and physically, intelligent and keenly observant. You admire her immediately. Nash is definitely her other half, you sense thar from the beginning. That being said, Clara and Sam also seem to halves of a whole, they are total nut cases but well matched together.

This is a book I'll be recommending at book club meetings.

Great book to listen too I did twice!

A new law enforcement group to me it’s like fish and game rolled into regular state police. Great characters that seem like a good beginning for a series. Everybody starting over, new coming home, or back to a favorite vacation area, new home X 3. All doing what they love even the serial killers, stranger than strange. Great stories with in the story. I want to listen to more about the northwest and these peoples lives. Nora Roberts never lets me down. Thankfully I get at around 5 new books a year, Including JD Robb!

A Wild Subplot

4.5 stars ⭐️ Natural Resource Officer Sloan Cooper almost died when she was shot in a botched convenience store robbery. She died during surgery but was brought back. Now she is back home to recover. She decides to stay as she got a promotion to Sargent. Nash Littlefield and his brother, Theo, moved to town to start and construction business. As Sloan recovered from her injuries, she noticed a pattern in recent abductions. Theo and Sloan’s sister ended up in a romantic relationship. Nash and Sloan are really good together! The suspense plot is wild, but believable. I liked the progression of the story and how the plot was developed with the story ending as it did.

suspense, action, well written

i loved this book! it started with action from the start! it had fairly extensive world building, but none that detracted from. the read! i loved the characters and the different points of view portrayed in the novel! i have never read one of Robert’s romantic, suspense thrillers, however. this will not be my last! She crafts a story that is suspense from chapter to chapter! the story & plot were fantabulous. i loved how she presented the book from 3 different main characters. point of view. different characters points of view and what is driving each set. I highly recommend this read, and hope you enjoy it as much as i did! i bought this book and my thoughts and opinions are my own! i would love to give a shout out to the narrator, who always does a fabulous job, this book was no exception! She was fabulous! this is a fairly long read/listen once i started it i went straight through barely putting it down! i HIGHLY recommend it!

how strange people are?

Family closeness creates more of the same.Even with strabge things going on. Always a cliffhanger for Ms Brown. I love it.
