And so it begins!
Cal has somehow managed to survive his first weekend in a strange new world he knows next to nothing about. He has surrounded himself with a small cast of extraordinary women, a few friends, even a handful of adversaries. Hell, he even passed his first Core-trial!
And most importantly, he managed to find love.
But this was just the beginning of Cal’s story, a whirlwind of adventure before his new life truly begins. It is a life that seems destined to forge him into a hero, one that this world needs.
To save it from the abyss of the shadows.
But he is not there yet. He is not quite ready to face the trials that lay before him.
Cal will now start his training alongside his peers at the Hexinblade Academy, where he will learn to wield the powers given to him by whoever sent him to this world. To use the sword and master the art of combat against the enemies that will soon come for him and those he now holds dear.
But time is not on his side. Cal will have to face both shadow and human threats to survive this next phase of his journey. All while forging relationships with the amazing women in his life and getting over his long-held fears.
He must finally become the man he was meant to be.

good but the over explanation doubled the length

they are told flat out in previous chapters that the temporary established government is now aware of the girls are being kidnapped in the city. this is now a known quantity and a recognized threat.
immediately after they are given shore leave of a sorts to freely enter the city for one day. completely ignoring the warning which is ironic considering it's the MC, his three female hexanblade companions two of which have powers and one of which does not and then his servant girl who has no hex in blade training or power.
they go to the city and the constant running gag of oh I'm a hexenblade so I am constantly horny I need to be bonked in the head with a mallet comes up over and over and over and over. we get it seriously we get it you need some kind of plot piece to move the intimate scenes forward.
said intimate seeing comes up as the MC splits off with his fey lover. they decide to stay in the hotel for a couple hours and enjoy themselves while the three girls go off by themselves. to attempt to return to the Garrison instead of just doing the logical thing and waiting at the pub for a few hours to travel in a safe group because plot reasons.
so we now have two hexenblade girls and one servant girl by themselves alone in a city where there is a known threat of girls being captured. one of these girls has access to her power but it's a total clutz the other does not and then of course lo and behold they get attacked by a group of boys shocked Pikachu face. and just as it seems that they are going to be captured they are rescued in a deus ex machina.
at this point I'm going to stop referencing the chapter and I'm simply going to say this. this needs to just stop trying to be what it's not. this is not a fantasy novel with men's romance and intimacy and other things mixed in. this is cashier check out Fabio slop that couldn't write itself out of a paper bag.
I'm embarrassed that I spent a credit buying the second novel.
the two voice actors knock it out of the park like normal but the material they're working with is the equivalent of reading off of the back of a missing person's label on the old milk cartons. except the missing person in question is the plot and the ability to have critical thinking and my friends they are gone to never return.
I'm convinced at this point that it's got to be a parody.

I wanted this book series to be good, but nope, it's more of a joke and the terrible jokes are getting old, I made it just under 6hrs left of the book and I wish I could return this trash.
author, you have a lot of great potential but I hate that your characters are becoming the most annoying turds, these aren't kids, they are 20+ year olds, mature adults who have rational thoughts. not children.
Could this story be any slower?
