Another Awesome Novel

I love the characters and how they are developed. There’s lots of suspense. I like the narrator.

Compelling characters

Another great story in the Kevin Kerney series. George Guidall gives another wonderful performance as the narrator.

Great book bad sound Quality

The book is great but the sound quality is terrible. This is the only book so far with such bad sound quality.

george needs to retire. it's increasing difficult to understand his slurring and bubbling narration..story is great. anything he reads today 2024 I don't buy. just to hard to understand. the authors need to move away from him.
He has been a amazing part of audible books for people like me who can't read anymore in the past, but time to hang it up.

Good but not great

The Kevin Kerney series is as evocative of the sense of New Mexico as the Walt Longmire series is of Wyoming or the Leaphorn/Chee series is of Navajo country. The stories could not be told as well in any other setting. McGarrity obviously knows the area and its people and presents them in an enjoyable way.

Kerney is an excellent protagonist, with both flaws and virtues that are important to the stories told.

Unfortunately, this is a weaker entry in this book series than previous books, with two rather slight and largely unrelated stories intertwined, neither of which has the depth or emotional impact of previous books.

This is a solid police procedural, but not exemplary. It's entertaining, and will not stop me from reading further books by McGarrity, but it's only good, not great.

George is losing it.

George G. has been always been one of my fav narrators, but he’s gone downhill on this one. Lack of enunciation on words, muffled and the usual abundance of saliva (which before was more tolerable). I’m guessing the story was solid but I couldn’t get through it. Maybe it’s time to find another performer or perhaps Sir George was sick. Bummer either way.
