I’m not going home. Of that, I am certain.

And anyway, who would want to? Folotelyn Kyanite is the best thing that ever happened to me. She’s kind, caring, drop dead gorgeous and with her best friend, and my second wife, Alfofida, the beautiful, intelligent inventor. Well, they make one hell of a pair.

The politics of this world be damned. I’ve got things settling in pretty well right now. Except after delivering the badly wounded Kiggaelin to her father. I was sent back with Elder Obsidian to seal the tunnel and cement my permanence on this world. All the while, Kiggaelin was at home, dying.

Her father, furious at having his attempts to have me killed and the other elders humiliated, is going to have his daughter’s death placed firmly in my hands. A last ditch effort to hold me accountable for his perceived wrongs.

I can only hope that when the dust settles, we can live with the consequences.

The last time I saw anything like this was in A Man's Word by Marcus Sloss and Stoham Baginbott and Atomic Mage by Garrett A. Carter. Where the Dwarven nation or kingdom was basically divided or at least fractured, largely due to the leadership or old grudges and slights. Or at least when there's 1 of them obsessed with power and prestige that he'd be willing to kill his guests and call it an accident or his own family members in some sick political game like Elder Garnet. But killing many of the clan family members and capturing the Elders and their firstborn children. Along with indoctrinated or desperate clan-less fools following a self righteous and greedy bastard like him murdering and assassinating innocent people.

Before that though, I enjoyed the line of events before that betrayal and horror. And this is all still within the knowledge that their world is under threat of invasion by literal bloodthirsty and meat crazy orcs reminding me of the tribes of the Ogre Kingdoms from Warhammer Fantasy. Not just because of the strength and meat list of eating other races, not just animals, but because of their unexpectedly sturdy bodies. With an tough musculature and dense bone structure like that of iron in their spines.

Kegaelin being a B__ch is basically a front because she doesn't know how to let down her guard. Something that her father likely instilled in her from a young age. However she's also no fool. So her attitude is likely mostly a front. And even when this is over, her clan will likely Never be welcomed back into the Dwarven city. Even if some of them are innocent, they'll likely be exiled.

I was a little confused as to why Toby punched that one young unarmed Dorf trying to block their way. When they were likely trying to take his Sister, if I'm guessing right, to get medical treatment. Their father tried to whip everyone into believing Toby was the Devil in their midst. Yet he didn't assassinate people and set up a literal throne room in their clan family estate. As well as constantly try to scream or bully the other Elders in the council to do his bidding. When Obsidian did so it was out of practicality not feeding his lust for power. But the bastard's assassins took Elder Obsidian's head. Likely as a sick trophy or something. From the examples I provided of other Haremlit books when the drama got high, even They never did anything so vile. Although to be fair they were either prevented or got thwarted before they could do any real damage. Not this time though.....

And Elder Garnet better pray Ra or Foley don't get to him before Tobias doesn't. At least Toby will make his end rather quick. Which is also if the Orcs don't get him.

I Loved it! and Dwarves/Dorfs are awesome when they aren't a_sholes

I didn’t understand how some of the erotic points fit, or the purpose of them. I felt book one was better. It did have a strange opening scene. And no time frame—meaning “three weeks earlier” “a months later” etc.
As always, the male narrator has never let me down!
