slow start but good finish

It took a bit to warm up but ended great. It is worth the read.

Brothers best friend romance, I dig stories like these.
Marco seems very moody and he wasn’t happy to see Alyssa.
He has been having a hard time because he is having some wartime demons plaque him but he won’t let anyone know.
Alyssa has had a crush on Marco for as long as she can remember and it hasn’t dulled in the least. She is between a rock and a hard place and finds herself at the mercy of Marco.

It’s a sweet story but not one of my favorites.
I enjoyed the narration.

Good, not great

After listening to her what are your fight club series, I was really excited to try out another series by Laura Kaye. The thing that I love so much about the WFC series were the strong female characters and her ability to let strong men be strong without sinking to any of the usual anxiety crap so often common in romantic literature.

If this was the first book I’d read by Laura K I’m not sure I would have been interested in reading another book by her. It was fairly generic by romance standards.

Good but...

Good but it would have been great if you got to enjoy more of them as a happy couple

So terrible I could not get through the first hour.

The hackneyed phrases and sentences of this novel were excruciating to listen to and the narration was clumsy and emotionless. And that is only in the first hour. I shudder to think what the editor of the piece went through.

Although perhaps it was never edited?
