Burke's southern experience

As always Burke's stories are exceptional and done with an amazing and intimate flavour of the deep south..

Wish it were longer

Typically Burke and Robicheau's memorizing world. Dark, poignant and haunting to the finish.

Hard Hitting Cajun Mystery

This is a short story and that is the reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. You want more. the narrator does a fantastic job of being the hero. It is an exciting story. You will not be able to put this one down.

Abridged Version

Writing is great! Wish I could have found an audio version that was not abridged.

The voice helped put me to sleep! The stories sere a little gross! The discussed pics were reslistic.

Heaven's prisoners wow what a great audiobook

great audiobook Will Patton is the best narrator for audio books nobody even comes close James Lee Burke is a terrific writer I wish this audiobook would have been longer Other than that it was a great audiobook Will Patton is one of those rare actors that has the ability to change his voice and sound very convincing I've listened to probably 25 to 30 audio books that he's done over the years every one of them have been fantastic

Would you listen to Heaven's Prisoners again? Why?

Yes. Burke has a gift for describing a scene in such detail that you feel as if you are there. His words have a sing-song quality that never seems to bog down the plot.

What other book might you compare Heaven's Prisoners to and why?

Any other Burke book. They are all first quality.

What about Will Patton’s performance did you like?

Will Patton does a wonderful job of portraying Dave's vulnerabilities, while at the same time convincing the reader that Dave can handle any situation. His use of the accent also makes the portrayal more believable. The way Dave calls everyone

I love the Dave Robicheux series. The second book was shorter than the Neon Rain, but it was just as good.
