Graceful Story of Self Discovery

While I do not have the same background as Mary, nor profession, I am not a mother, nor an entrepreneur, Mary has a unique warmth that radiates and makes you feel as if you are her best friend. In this book, she shares vignettes that at times are incredibly relatable (despite any differences you may have), tried and true tips, insight into who she truly is behind the sunglasses and how she has grown over time. She gracefully carries you along for the ride of her self discovery.

I honestly expected this to be the story of celebrating her success and her journey of building Happily Grey and Nemah and was pleasantly surprised at how little the book focused on that. This book is proof of how incredibly humble Mary is. She shows her resilience in hardships she has had to overcome and has you cheering for her fierce determination and work ethic. The grey areas she highlights are something we all have and leaves you reflecting on your own life.

This book will make you want to take a warm bath with a glass of wine (or gin), appreciate life’s simple moments, nudge you to take risks, hold onto true love and respect those who uplift you. 5 stars!

Mary is such an inspiration for young girls to follow their dreams and take risks. The audible version was a great way to hear her story in her own voice!

Honest, intimate & uplifting

So good that I couldn’t stop listening!

Mary writes vulnerably about her childhood in Texas, her pre-influencer career as an ICU nurse, societal pressures on women, divorce, disordered eating, finding love, judgement free motherhood, and her style icon grandmother (who sounded fabulous btw). The stories from her life experiences were honest, encouraging and entertaining.

Mary did a great job narrating. Highly recommend!

Emotionally beautiful listen

Mary tells her story seamlessly and has in the most beautiful way touched every piece of my heart. My eyes welled with happy, loving tears so many times. I reflected and felt my own memories in the same way she detailed hers.

Better than your favorite hallmark Christmas movie.
