The Haitian Revolution began in 1791 in the French colony of Saint Domingue, when a group of slaves rebelled in order to secure their freedom and the end of slavery. In the midst of the French Revolution, slaves took advantage of volatile political, racial, and social circumstances.

Good Summary of a Complicated Subject
I really liked this because they were able to cram a lot in about an hour. There are longer books about the Haitian Revolution and Haitian history. If you’re looking for details try those. If you want a quick overview of the Haitian revolution, this is great.
Keep in mind, this book is part of a series called “History in an Hour”. Be sure to manage your expectations before you buy.

The strength a determination to fight for freedom
Whoa!!! This was an eye opening history of events I never knew happened. Their determination to fight for their freedom and for other enslaved black across the world was eye opening.

Don't waste your money. Totally superficial!
This was a complete waste of time and money. Reads like a term paper by a mediocre student who has done no research and just spouts out events without knowing anything about the context etc.
