As the people they care about are drawn into the chaos, Hazard and Somers have to fight to keep what they love - and to keep each other. To find the killer, they will have to reveal what each has kept buried for years: their feelings for each other.

And for Hazard, that’s a hell of a lot scarier than murder.

can't get enough of Somers and Hazard! I've binged listened each book and can't wait for the next one to come out.

This book was a roller coaster of emotions, but filled with hope and green relief.

Finally. I am totally emotionally invested in these two. watch out this series is addictive! I even bought the short in-between stories.

Good Mystery

This autor always keeps you wondering what will happen next. The mystery is always a good one I never know who did it until the end of the book. I really hope Hazard never gets back with his boyfriend from the last book he was such a brat. I feel bad for anyone in that type of a relationship. This book was so much better without a lot of him.

One cannot go wrong with this series, Tristan does wonders to Ashes work, READ THIS!

No one saw a thing!

From my review: If Gregory Ashe's long-term plan was to keep me so deeply invested in these books I'd forget to write my own, then bravo, sir. Mission accomplished.

Tristan James takes on another great cast of suspects, reminiscent of Transposition, with a dead sheriff and everyone who was present but didn't see a thing. And even more importantly, he finally delivers scenes of long-awaited romance! Tristan does a wonderful job with the vulnerability and intensity within those moments between Hazard and Somerset.

Good match of narrator and story

Hazard and Somerset are a couple of broken Alpha males who have pined after each other for ages. This is book 4 in the series, and it's different in a number of ways. The mystery is more complicated, but steps to the side a bit, taking H and S out of direct line of fire (sort of). It's like the slight deceleration before accelerating out of a turn.

I don't love this narrator. He has a way of speaking that occasionally veers over into Christopher Walken territory, only a little deeper. He has a limited range of female voices. However, here in book 4, something clicks into place. This story has something the others don't, which is more and longer stretches of witty banter between the two main characters. Hazard, whose angst is only exceeded by his rage, has settled into town, his job, and his partnership with Somerset enough to relax and let fly a dry, sharp humor. Paired with Somerset's teasing and sometimes juvenile humor, it brings light into their relationship that wasn't there before. And the narrator nails it.

I really like this series, and the reading of this one worked well.

Enjoying this series.

Oh wow. It took these two men 4 books to finally realize what they mean to each other. Not complaining it been a interesting ride. Usually I want the hot sex between the two main characters usually by book two but these boys drug it out for 4 books. The mayhem and madness of this little town in a very short while has been crazy but the author who is new for me has made it an interesting trip.

Finally!!

I LOVE these two characters and their dynamic together. I am so glad they finally pulled their heads out of their arses and emotionally made it to the same place at the same time! The slow burn was killing me and I wasn’t going to make it through another book with them being too afraid and stubborn to take the plunge together. Swoon! Great series by Ashe and the narration by Tristan James is perfect!
