"Mim Woolcott, yuppie to the max, is a mother of two who spends the majority of her time with equally status and income-conscious women. Danielle Carter has her narration work cut out for her as she portrays vacuous and vain women, some of whom are humorously played as vicious to the core. These women are mainly concerned about appearances and clothing, food and invites to society events. Carter captures their bitchiness with aplomb as they claw their way up the social ladder." Not worth the cost

Very shallow, leaves you hoping you will never be rich and self absorbed

Really Cute Story

You can see whats coming from a mile a way but it is fun ride. I didn't know this story took place in Australia but it was really cute none the less. I recommend it to my book club. I liked the characters and the story but it does jump around a bit. You think there is going to be this huge detailed side story and then... eh not really. The main character is the MAIN character and we get little tidbits of drama from her friends. Lots of brand name dropping all from the Australian perspective.

Just Okay, Sorry.

The book seemed to just drag along. There were so many mixed characters with those strong Endlish accents and the narrator seemed to mummble just a bit much for my taste, that I couldn't tell one character from the other. Sorry, I know it has the upper crust society that I like to read about but you can skip this particular one.

Skinny plot, worse narration.

I had low expectations of this book, and they were fully met - not a problem. A plot as skinny as some of the characters, and a glaringly predictable story was implicit in the title and precis.

Far worse than the story was the narration. Whilst the narrator's voice is pleasant enough to listen to, and has a better quality than many, it was the inappropriate intonation and strange emphasis on the wrong words that distracted this listener. I have noted this previously in other books read by the same narrator and it really detracts from any story.
