Holy slow talker

Super predictable, basic lesbian story line. The narrator talks. So. Slow. I had to listen in 2x. She takes these awkward pauses and it’s hard to push through.

Great story....horrible narration

The narrator needs a lot of practice. The narrator paused at inappropriate times in a sentence and sounded robotic much of the time.

Narrator is a problem

I agree with other reviewers the narrator pauses at odd times. If you change the speed to 1.5 it’ll ‘fix’ the problem. All in all it was a good story but not my favorite.

One of my favorite narrators !

I have difficulty listening to a few narrators, everyone has their own personal preferences! I'll definitely be looking for other audio books with Nicole Haumesser as the narrator.

Good story, not so good narration

I really liked the storyline. It was difficult to stay with it though because of the halting and stilted narration. The phrasing was awkward most of the time and I felt like she was not familiar with the story or where it was going.

How did Frank find Serene

I understand this was a romance story, though more detail of mystery would have made this story much more interesting. Did not like the narrator voice, irritating and pauses like everyone else is saying. I endured hoping to find out how Frank found Serene each time.

All around winner

This is an exceptional audio book. Nicole does an incredible job of bringing the story and the characters to life. The suspense and the personalities are well developed and believable.The layers of this story make it a different type of emotional read than I usually find enjoyable. I was actually disappointed when I finished it. This is the first book I have experienced by Marain Snowe. I am now looking forward to adding anything she has written or will write in the future to my TBR or listened to list.

Loved the story line hated the narrator

Although it was a cute story the narrator was horrible making awkward pauses the entire book and often not resonating the emotion behind it.

Dangerous Romance

This was the classic bodyguard story, now in women-loving-women form. I'm a sucker for remakes. Of course you know how it's going to progress, but the characters' stories are interesting nonetheless. I do honestly wish we got more answers on the *how* of some things, but I can live without those since the romance was the main focus. That sneaky author almost got me with a certain twist, but I appreciate her being here for the gays. All this fluff gives a girl the warm and fuzzies. There was a dash of angst here and there, an action sequence I would have loved to see, and feelings aplenty.

The narrator had a nice voice that was easy to listen to, but her stilted reading was something I had to get used to. Also, there seemed to be about 3 seconds of lost audio in the middle of a scene where 3 seconds was significant. Not that this was on the narrator. She was able to convey feelings really well, and gave each person a distinct voice which helped during some of the conversations. It was honestly just the way she halted in sentences that threw off the listen for me. But I don't think it was 3 stars worthy.

Narrator just ruined it for me

I don't know if it's a production issue or just the narration, but I couldn't get through it. At times rhe narrator sounds like Siri reading a book to you. She..reads...it.....like..this. Odd pauses and stutters like they're reading a teleprompter that is only giving them 1 to 2 words at a time. I tried speeding up the audio but that made the read parts sound rushed instead of eliminating the gaps. The 2 hours I did listen I liked the story and wanted to know more, but I think it would be better to just read it for myself. I'm so sorry to the author and the narrator, but it just wasn't put together well sound wise.
